英語・ライティング表現のメモ〈１〉

今年に入ってから英語の勉強をし直そうと決め
具体的には英検1級を受けるって……
そう言ってましたね

もう夏です

やっとやり始めました

課題としては
・語彙力つけよう
・ライティングスキルを上げよう
です

普段のライティングの練習はルーズリーフに書いてます
でもバラバラして見づらいので こちらに残しておくことにしました

備忘録的な記事ですので 愛想のない文章です
ざっと読んでいただいて 少しでもお役に立てれば嬉しいです

今日のライティング

まずは日本語の文章

最近、図書館で「江戸時代に描かれた動物たち」の本を借りてきました
描かれた動物たちはかわいいのもあれば、風変わりなのもあり飽きることなく楽しめました
今の時代は画像や映像に残せますが、昔のこういった絵は大変貴重なものだと思います


私の英訳

I borrowed a book about the pictures of animals which were made in the Edo period from the library the other day. The animals in the book were not only cute but also unique. So I really enjoyed and read through all without boring. We can leave anything in photos and videos easily these days.
Therefore I thought these old pictures are truly precious because they show us the record of the days.

●「effigy」の「photo」「picture」「portrait」との意味合いの違い

Effigy - 通常、人物の像や彫像、特に抗議や儀式のために作られるものを指します
例えば、誰かの姿を模した人形や彫像が燃やされたりする場合などです
