why do they call it Escapism 彼らがそれを現実逃避主義を呼ぶ原因

to the modern commercial Zeitgeist, pleasure or enjoyment without spending capitals seems impossible---and when they see people receive such things from intangible things such as imagination, culture or music, the venerable pragmatist utilitarians would panic out of sorts---how could someone possess something that does so much good to them, without my being able to invest in it and making money out of it? What are they doing? They are running away from my all-mighty capitalism machine! They are ESCAPING! what ESCAPISM!? How could you ever expect to live a life without going through consummerism of material substances? You are crooked and probably high on morphine. I ain't gonna yield to you! bloody Hippie escapists. I have mae car and mae house. I live in a boulevard district and my children go to a good school. We drive out to the countree for vacation. What have you got there? What do you mean by "possessing a cultured mind"? "reading"? "listening to music"? "singing and dancing"?
And they will never possess it, imperishable joys and pleasures. Well, but they have substitutes. Alcohol, drugs, spicy one-night aventures, beachside vacation, driving along high way 66 with a sports car. Yeah, let them have those. Those Escapists, from mind into material substance. From thinking into dissipation. From devotion to addiction and abuse.
Atoms are immortal, human minds perish; all materials are perishable, though human sentiments and thoughts enduring---but there is no mind in atom. True life exists in a Monad instead of a material substance, or otherwise we would have long lost any nobler notions for imperishables, and each and every one substance addicts, sexual maniacs and running around trying to meddle with politics and take a share from all potential markets----well, I am not saying those men do not exist.
