日本の音楽界が無視してきた「ミニマル・ミュージック」の重要性　久石譲

Minimal music consists of repeating short phrases over and over again, with the phrases varying slightly. This is a methodology that lets you hear minute changes. There is a legendary composer named Terry Riley, and it was started in America around 1965 by Philip Glass, Steve Reich, and others. In Europe, a similar trend of creating music using minimal patterns had begun.
ミニマル・ミュージックとは、短いフレーズを何回も繰り返し、それが少しずつずれていく。微細な変化を聴かせていく方法論です。テリー・ライリーさんという伝説的な作曲家がいるのですが、彼やフィリップ・グラスさん、スティーヴ・ライヒさんなどによって、1965年ぐらいにアメリカで始まったものです。ヨーロッパでも同じように、最小限のパターンで音楽をつくる流れが始まっていました。
