１．３．５　ゴミ減少

　　ここ何年も年、民放テレビ各局では野球放送以外に鑑賞できる番組をなかなか見つけられなくて私は困っています。もっとはっきり言えば、私にとって時間つぶし目的だけのテレビ番組のほとんどがゴミみたいなものなのです。この表現は制作現場で働いておられる方々には失礼なものだと思いますが、他に良い言葉が見つかりません。
　本当のゴミは最近ではゴミ燃料として燃料に再使用（りユース）することができますが、ソフトのゴミは燃料にもできません。
　ゴミというのは物という形を持ったゴミ、形は持たないけど金銭取引の対象となるソフトとしてのゴミがあると書きました。いずれも冷静に判断して購入すれば、そして商品やソフトのもつ寿命をまっとうさせる使い方をして、いとおしく思う心を持てばゴミの量は減らせることができます。ゴミ問題には物質的な側面以外に精神的な側面があります。
　ゴミをメーカーの責任にすることは簡単です。でもそれだけで問題は解決しません。ゴミ問題解決の最大の鍵は一人一人の心の中にあるのです。

1.3.5 Reduction of garbage

　In the past many years, I have had a hard time finding programs to watch other than baseball broadcasts on commercial TV stations, which has been a problem for me. To put it more clearly, most TV programs only to kill time are like garbage to me. I know this expression is disrespectful to those working in the production field, but I can't find a better word to describe it.
　Real garbage can be reused as fuel these days, but software garbage cannot be used as fuel.
　I wrote that there are two types of garbage: garbage in the form of objects and garbage in the form of software that has no form but is subject to monetary transactions. In both cases, the amount of waste can be reduced if we make purchases based on a sober judgment, use the products and software in a way that allows them to live out their useful lives, and have a heart that values them. There is a spiritual aspect to the waste problem in addition to the material aspect.
　It is easy to blame the manufacturers for the waste. But that alone will not solve the problem. The biggest key to solving the garbage problem lies in the heart of each individual.
