FDA 70 new drug approvals, almost half of them biopharmaceuticals
In 2023, the US Food and Drug Administration approved 55 new drugs and 15 biologics, excluding standard plasma and diagnostics. This is the second highest number of approvals in the past decade. A breakdown shows that 34 of these were new biotech drugs.
