ドッペルゲンガー（doppelganger）と「他人の空似」について（第8回IEL Salon（イールサロン）参加）

今年2021年から、IEL Salon（イールサロン）というFacebookグループに参加して勉強を始めました。IT講座や英会話講座・プログラミング・電子書籍出版等…ビジネスや将来起業をする場合に必要な情報・コンテンツを学べるサロンになります。

今回は第8回「世界のニュースを英語で学ぶ！英会話講座」の関連内容とし
て、ドッペルゲンガー（doppelganger）と「他人の空似」について調べてみました。今回は以下授業の流れから、プレゼンをおこなったため、原稿を記事にすることにしました！

授業の流れ：

１．5/08(土）は現代科学で説明するには難しい不思議な事実の数々（エイリアンのテクノロジー含む）についてディスカッション。

２．5/22(土）はメンバーがそれぞれ「研修テーマ」を決め、5-10分で発表。

★ドッペルゲンガー（doppelganger）と「他人の空似」について

「他人の空似]「瓜二つ」という言葉が日本語でもありますが、ドイツ語には Doppelgänger (ドッペルゲンガー) という言葉・現象があります。
英語の double 「二重」「生き写し、コピー」」を意味する doppel (ドッペル)と、英語の「Walker「歩行者」を意味する Gänger (ゲンガー)の合成語であると言われています。（ただし、Gängerという単語は現代ドイツ語では使われていないそうです。）
The word "doppelgänger" is a German word and phenomenon, similar to the Japanese words "imitation" and "doppelgänger".
It is said to be a composite of the English word "doppel" meaning "double" or "copy" and the English word "Gänger" meaning "walker". (The word Gänger, however, is not used in modern German.

ドッペルゲンガー（doppelganger）については、昔からオカルトや都市伝説・小説等で取り上げられてきました。しかしながら、近年では科学的に解明されている部分もあるので調べてみました。
Doppelgangers (doppelgangers) have long been discussed in occult and urban legends and novels. However, in recent years, some aspects of the phenomenon have been scientifically clarified, so I looked into it.

まず、ドッペルゲンガーは大きく分けて2種類あることがわかりました。
First, I found out that there are two main types of doppelgangers.

①自分の分身を自分が目撃するケース
A case of witnessing your own alter ego in person.
②明らかに同一人物が、全く異なる場所で、全く同時刻に、第三者によって目撃されるケース
Cases in which the same person is apparently seen by a third party in a completely different place at the exact same time.

①については「1558年から1603年までイギリスを統治していた女王・エリザベス女王1世」の例があります。晩年に身動きせずにベッドに横たわっていた自分を自分で見たとの言い伝えです。目撃から間もなく69歳で亡くなっており、高齢であること、治療や薬の服用による影響が考えられています。
なお、①のケース全般においては一般的には科学的に以下のように推測されています。
There is an example of Queen Elizabeth I, who ruled England from 1558 to 1603. It is said that she saw herself lying on her bed without moving in her later years. She died shortly after the sighting at the age of 69, and it is thought that her old age, treatment and medication may have affected her.
In addition, in the case of (1) in general, it is generally scientifically speculated as follows.

（１）脳の疾患により幻覚を見た脳疾患説
　　　Brain disease theory: hallucinations caused by brain disease
（２）精神を病むことによる精神疾患説
　　　Theory of mental illness caused by mental illness

②について生物学的には「他人の空似」の可能性が高いと言われています。
環境や習慣にも影響はされますが、体格や顔立ちは主に遺伝子で決まります。もともと人間はさかのぼれば同一の祖先を持っているので、他人でも、遺伝子の組成が偶発的に似ることもありえるはずです。
It is said that biologically, there is a high possibility that we are "Similar to others". Although we are influenced by our environment and habits, our physique and facial features are mainly determined by our genes. Since we all have the same ancestors, it is possible for us to accidentally resemble each other in our genetic composition.

民族という概念は多々ありますが、これを遺伝的に近い人たちのグループとしてみなした場合、理論的にはその中で自分にそっくりな人が生まれる可能性は高いと述べている記事もあります。地球人類の人口（2020年の世界人口：78億人として計算）の約2割をしめるという漢民族（13億人以上）グループに属しているのであれば、自分のそっくりさんに出会う確率は理論的には多少なりとも高い考えられるという事でした。
There are many concepts of ethnicity, but if you consider it as a group of people who are genetically close to each other, then theoretically, there is a high possibility that someone who looks exactly like you will be born in that group. If you belong to the Han Chinese group (more than 1.3 billion people), which accounts for about 20% of the earth's human population (calculated based on the assumption that the world population in 2020 will be 7.8 billion people), then theoretically, the probability of meeting someone who looks exactly like you is more or less high.

カナダのカメラマン、フランソワ・ブルネールさんは赤の他人なのにそっくりだと言われている人を集めて2ショット写真をとり展示会を行ったそうです。その写真はとても興味深かったです。
A Canadian photographer, Francois Brunel, gathered a group of people who were said to look exactly like each other, even though they were strangers, and took two shots of them for an exhibition. I found the photos very interesting.

しかしながら、まだ科学では解明出来ないという意見もあり、以下の説も信じられています。
However, there are still some who believe that science is not yet able to understand it, and the following theories are believed.

★世界にはいくつかの次元が存在し、違う次元の自分を見たとするパラレルワールド説
The parallel world theory that there are several dimensions in the world and that we see ourselves in different dimensions.
★寝ている間に体が魂から抜け出たとする幽体離脱説
The theory of astral projection, which states that the body has left the soul while sleeping.

現代は急速に科学が進歩してるので、さらなる解明がされる日も来るかもしれないと個人的には考えています。
I personally believe that with the rapid progress of science in the modern age, we may one day see further clarification.
