How do you count your gestational age?

Gestational age is the common term used during pregnancy to describe how far along your pregnancy is. It is measured in weeks, from the first day of the woman's last menstrual cycle to the current date.
In many countries, the first day of the woman’s last menstrual cycle is counted as the 1st week 0 day. Unlike that, in Japan, we do as 0 week 0 days so you may confuse at first.
Moreover, your 40 weeks of pregnancy are counted as nine months but we divide them by 4 weeks evenly so the last period from 36 to 39 weeks called as 10 moths pregnancy.
Therefore, normal pregnancy can range from 37 to 41 weeks in Japan. Infants born before 37weeks are considered premature.
