英語の勉強 what is the difference?　聞き流し用 【悪意で返品出来ないの？？】

ジェリーがジャケットを買いますが、
ジャケットを売ったセールスマンが気に食わず、
悪意でジャケットを返品しに来てます。

英語版

ジェリー： Excuse me, I would like to return this jacket.
店員：　Certainly, may I ask why?
ジェリー： For spite.
店員：　 Spite.
ジェリー： That’s right. I don’t care for the salesman that sold it to me.
店員：　I don’t think you can return an item for spite.
ジェリー： What do you mean?
店員：　Well, if there was some problem with the garment, if it were unsatisfactory in some way, then we could do it for you, but I’m afraid spite doesn’t fit into any of our conditions for a refund.
ジェリー： That’s ridiculous. I want to return it. What’s the difference what the reason is?
店員：　Let me speak with the manager. Excuse me. Bob.

店長と店員が話している。

店員：　Spite…
店長： What seems to be the problem?
ジェリー： Well I want to return this jacket and she asked me why and I said for spite and now she won’t take it back.
店長： That’s true. You can’t return an item based purely on spite.
ジェリー： Well so fine then, then I don’t want it and then that’s why I’m returning it.
ボブ： Well you already said spite so..
ジェリー： But I changed my mind.
ボブ： No you said spite, too late.

ジェリー： すみません。ジャケットを返したいんだが。
店員：　もちろんです。理由をお聞きしてよいですか？
ジェリー： 悪意。
店員：　 悪意？
ジェリー： そうだよ。ジャケットを売ったセールスマンが気にくわない。
店員：　悪意で返品できると思いませんが。。
ジェリー： どういう意味？
店員：　衣類に問題があるとか満足できない場合は返品可能ですが、悪意が返金の対象になるとは。。
ジェリー：バカバカしい。返したいんだ。理由はどうでもいいだろ。
店員：　店長と話してきます。

店長と店員が話している。

店員：　悪意。。
店長： 何か問題でも？
ジェリー： ジャケットを返しにきたんだが、彼女が理由を聞いてきたから悪意って言ったら、返品できないって言うんだ。
店長： そうです。悪意では返品出来ません。
ジェリー： あっそ。ならこのジャケットが欲しくない。それが理由で返品するよ。
ボブ： しかし、すでに悪意とおっしゃられたので
ジェリー： 心変わりしたんだ。
ボブ： しかし、悪意と言いましたので遅いです。

法律上でホントに悪意で返品できないのでしょうか？笑
