前回では、意外と日本人が知らないインド人学生の驚くべき活躍＝世界企業においてのポジションの獲得についてでした。

ここで驚くべきなのは、同じ大学を出ている、、、もそうなのですが、その多くはアメリカに大学卒業後に行っているという点です。
私がかつてみたデータでは、日本人の方がインド人に比べ、人口比率で言えば留学している学生は多いのですが、google、MS、Adobe、IBMの社長に一気に日本人学生がなることは想像しにくいのかもしれません。
記事では、まずは世界で選ばれたCEOの軌跡について触れてくれています。

The ambitious Indian born CEOs understand the nuances of hard work-oriented results. Their exposure to the diverse and varied cultures of India sharpened their ability to communicate with people from various backgrounds. A look at the background of these CEO’s - Pichai Sundarajan aka Sundar Pichai was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, an IIT Kharagpur graduate, he earned his degree in metallurgical engineering and an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Arvind Krishna, born into an Army background family, finished his electrical engineering from IIT, Kanpur. Satya Nadella knew he always wanted to build things. An electric engineer, MS in computer science from Milwaukee and MBA from Chicago, he is surely an influencer. Shantanu Narayen was fortunate enough to be born in an affluent family, finished his BE from Osmania, MBA from California and MS from Ohio. Indra Nooyi, was born into a middle-class Chennai family wherein children were pushed to get good grades. She struggled to make ends meet after moving to Yale University's Graduate school of Management after her MBA from IIM, Kolkata. Rajeev Suri, a Delhi born businessperson has a BE in electronics and communication from Manipal Institute of Technology. Suri is one of those rare top corporate executives who have achieved heights without pursuing any MBA/PG degree. Sandeep Mathrani, took a bold and courageous step and emigrated to Philadelphia in the United States alone at the age of 16. He graduated from college at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, obtaining his bachelor's degree in engineering and management science.
Thomas Kurian was born to an exceptional father who was self-educated and hailed from a small town called Pampady in Kerala. He graduated from Princeton and did an MBA from Stanford. Laxman Narasimhan is a post-graduate with an MA in German and International Studies, MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, University of Pune. Vasant Narasimhan was born in Tamil Nadu and his parents immigrated to the United States. He was fortunate enough to finish his graduation in biological sciences from Chicago, MD from Harvard and masters in public policy as well. Born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh Nikesh Arora was born to an Indian Air Force Officer, graduated from IIT, Varanasi, MBA from North-eastern University. Sanjay Mehrotra started college at BITS, Pilani and then transferred to Berkeley to finish his BS and MS. The journey hasn't been easy for all and it is one filled with strenuous efforts and dedicated minds. But the one thing common amongst all is their exposure to diverse cultures in India.
