聖書翻訳プロジェクトの紹介

このブログシリーズでは、私の心に深く響く重要なプロジェクトについてお話ししたいと思います。それは、欽定訳聖書（KJV）を日本語に翻訳するということです。長年にわたり、私はKJVの豊かさと深みを日本の読者に届けたいという願いを持っていました。現代の翻訳は、しばしば重要なニュアンスを見逃したり、場合によっては節が完全に省略されることがあります。

KJV聖書は、テクストゥス・レセプトゥス（受け入れられた本文）から翻訳されたもので、原文に最も近いと言われています。私の目標は、神の御言葉の完全な啓示を保持した日本語版を作成し、主を求めるすべての日本の人々がその真理にアクセスできるようにすることです。

いのちの木と御言葉であるイエス

創世記を翻訳し始めたとき、特に創世記2章と3章に登場するいのちの木に引き寄せられました。この木はエデンの園に立っており、その物理的存在を超えた深い意味を持っています。いのちの木は、イエス・キリスト、つまり肉となった御言葉を象徴しています。イエスは「わたしは道であり、真理であり、いのちなのです」（ヨハネ14:6）と言われ、私たちは彼を通して永遠のいのちを得るのです。

いのちの木は、初めから存在し、最後には黙示録にも再び登場します（黙示録22:14）。このつながりは、聖書が創造から始まり、イエスを通じたすべてのものの回復までの完全な救いの物語であることを示しています。これらの節を翻訳していると、主が私に示されるのは、いのちの木は**イエス・キリスト（御言葉）**であり、この木に与ることは御言葉に与ることであり、それが信じる者に永遠のいのちをもたらすということです。

なぜKJVなのか？

欽定訳聖書は、主が啓示された真理を伝える上で、その正確さと深みで知られています。しかし、多くの日本語聖書は、意図は善良であっても、源文の違いから完全な啓示を欠いていることがあります。現代の翻訳はしばしば、ネストレ・アーラント本文に依拠しており、これはテクストゥス・レセプトゥスと著しく異なる点が多くあります。

KJVを日本語に翻訳することで、現代の日本語翻訳において欠けているものや変更された箇所を修復することが目的です。読者が失われたパワフルな真理を体験し、その御言葉がどのように人生を変えることができるかを感じていただきたいと願っています。

これまでの進捗

神の恵みにより、すでに黙示録、ヨハネの第一の手紙、ローマ人への手紙の翻訳がChatGPTの助けを得て仕上がりかけており、現在は創世記に取り組んでいます。この旅は謙虚なものであり、主が御言葉を通してより多くのことを啓示してくださっています。

すべての節には、表面的な意味を超えた深い意味があり、翻訳を進める中で、KJVの原意図と霊的なつながりを深く感じています。それは単なる言葉の集まりではなく、御言葉が日本語で生き生きとよみがえるのです。

これからの展望

私はこの翻訳作業を続け、まず福音書と新約聖書に焦点を当て、次に旧約聖書の他の重要な書物に進む予定です。このプロジェクトを通じて、日本における信者とまだ主に出会っていない人々の両方が、イエスが誰であるかを理解し、御言葉の力を体験することができるようになることを祈っています。

また、この翻訳が、英語学習のツールとしても強力なものになることを願っています。日本語と英語の両方を読み比べることで、霊的な知識と実践的な知識の両方が成長することが期待されます。このプロジェクトが、日本の信者と未信者に、いのちの源である御言葉を伝え、変化をもたらすことが私の願いです。

Unveiling the Word: A Journey Through the KJV Bible

Introduction to the Bible Translation Project

In this blog series, I want to share with you an important project that has been a deep burden on my heart: the translation of the King James Version (KJV) Bible into Japanese. For many years, I’ve felt the need to bring the richness and depth of the KJV to Japanese readers, as modern translations often miss important nuances or, in some cases, omit verses entirely.

The KJV Bible stands apart because it was translated from the Textus Receptus, which is closer to the original manuscripts. My goal is to create a Japanese version that retains the full revelation of God's Word, ensuring that His truth is accessible to all who seek Him in Japan.

The Tree of Life and Jesus the Word

As I began translating the Book of Genesis, I was particularly drawn to the Tree of Life mentioned in Genesis 2 and 3. This tree, which stood in the Garden of Eden, holds profound meaning beyond its physical presence. The Tree of Life is a representation of Jesus Christ, who is the Word made flesh. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), and it is through Him that we find eternal life.

Just as the Tree of Life was present in the beginning, it will also be present at the end in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 22:14). This connection shows that the Bible is a complete story of redemption, from creation to the restoration of all things through Jesus. As I translate these verses, I feel the Lord revealing to me that the Tree of Life is Jesus, the Word, and that partaking of this tree is partaking of His Word, which brings eternal life to those who believe.

Why the KJV?

The King James Version has been recognized for its accuracy and depth, especially in conveying the truths that the Lord revealed. However, many Japanese Bible versions, though well-intended, sometimes lack the full revelation due to differences in source texts. Modern translations often rely on the Nestle-Aland text, which has notable variations from the Textus Receptus.

By translating the KJV into Japanese, I aim to provide a version that restores what has been missing or altered in modern Japanese translations. I want readers to experience the depth of His Word without losing any of the powerful truths that can transform lives.

Our Progress So Far

By God’s grace, we have already completed translating the Book of Revelation, 1 John, and Romans, and we are now moving forward with Genesis. The journey has been humbling, as the Lord continues to reveal more of Himself through His Word.

Every verse carries meaning beyond the surface, and as I translate, I feel a deep connection with the original intent and spirit of the KJV. It's not just about words on a page but the living Word of God coming alive in the Japanese language.

The Vision Ahead

I plan to continue this translation work, focusing first on the Gospels and the New Testament, before moving into other key books of the Old Testament. My prayer is that through this project, both believers and non-believers in Japan will come to understand who Jesus truly is and experience the life-giving power of His Word.

In addition to the Bible translation, I also envision this work becoming a powerful tool for those learning English, as they will be able to read and compare the two languages, growing in both spiritual and practical knowledge. My heart's desire is to reach both Christians and those who have yet to encounter the Lord in Japan, showing them that His Word is the only true source of life.
