Member Interview Vol.1

Thankfully, Lily MedTech, especially our CEO, Shiho Azuma, and our CTO, Takashi Azuma, has been introduced in many media lately and I shared those articles on our facebook.
At the same time, there are many other attractive members who is highly motivated and joined our team with passion.
I interviewed these members and will introduce some of them!

The very first member I introduce is Nakamura-san, an engineer who used to be a graduate student of our CTO and now leading a team which develops image reconstruction application. 

-Would you tell me about your role at Lily MedTech?
I manage imaging application development and team members.

-Would you share your background with me?
When I was an engineering undergraduate, I wanted to study something close to applied engineering and selected fluid engineering in where I researched therapeutic ultrasound under Prof. Azuma (CTO). I researched ultrasound treatment as undergraduate and I researched imaging at graduate school.
As a new graduate, I joined one of the largest Japanese SIers as SE and developed large scale system development. At that time, I heard that the company based on the research result of Prof. Azuma’s laboratory was going to start and I returned to the University of Tokyo to join the project.
Upon Lily MedTech launch, I left the university and joint the company.

-What are your motivation and challenges?
I want to complete my research and launch the system.

-How do you find Lily MedTech?
I strongly feel that we have talented team members with high ability of understanding through agile discussion every day. Sometimes, the discussion go off the point but deepen discussion is always fun and exciting.
Currently, we’re concentrating on completing the system. As our imaging system is very new, it is not easy to proceed the development while the situation keeps changing and we are often required to determine what to create. I focus on preparing work environment where each member can concentrate on his / her own task.

-How do you spend your private time / holidays?
I and my wife enjoy travelling abroad a lot but as we recently got a baby and won’t be able to go abroad for a while. 

When I was a student, I played field hockey which don’t any longer. I try to do some workout instead.
BTW, I think it’s rather rare, I keep gecko called “Eublepharis macularius”! 

-My last question. What kind of place is Lily MedTech for you?
All team members always seek for the best and keep uncompromising attitude. It is very good place for the people who can find the issue and create own job. 

Thanks a lot. I often see the members of application team walk to the other member’s desk to discuss. Yong members also seem to enjoy this environment. Well, next time, I will introduce our members who supported this project before the company launched.
