Words of Zen　禅語（74）　吾心似秋月 碧潭清皎潔（わがこころしゅうげつににたり へきたんきよくしてこうけつ）

"My heart is as pure as the reflection of the mid-autumn moon in a clear blue pond."
“Even if I tried to compare my heart to something, there is nothing to compare it to. How can I tell people this?”

This is a state of enlightenment that cannot be expressed in words.

「私の心は、まるで中秋の明月が、碧く澄んだ池に映っているように清らかである」
「私の心を何かに譬えようとしても比べる物がない。これをどのようにして人に伝えればよいのだろうか」
『寒山詩』

これは、言葉にできない悟りの境地。

寒山のようにはなれないけれど、澄んで雑念の無い心を持つのも難しいけれど、せめて月のように、誰かの光になれたらと思うのである。
