表現力豊かに誇張する英語表現の5つのアプローチ

勿論声のトーンでかなり表せるのだけど、それ以外にはこういう方法がある：

１.数を極端に誇張して言う

Chinese restaurants tend to offer 10,000 different menus and I sometimes wonder whether they can actually do all of them.　中国料理店はよく10,000点くらいのメニューを載せてるけどホントに全部作れるのかなとたまに思うんだよね

Dr Pitnikoff speaks like 50 languages. ピトニコフ氏は５０ヶ国語くらい話せるんだ。

口語のみ。やり過ぎると子どもっぽいか。

２．（論証できない）最上級

It was the best weekend ever!　これまでで最高の週末！

Believe me, Gordon is the funniest human thing in the world.　僕が保証する、ゴードンは世界一面白いやつだから

論理的に意味をなさなくても気にしない。ただの強調だから。アメリカ人がよく使う気がする。

３．その他の枕詞

You’re not gonna believe this, I got invited to TED.　聞いてくれよ、TEDに招待された

Seriously, it was the best weekend ever!　ほんとに、最高の週末だった！

５．いわゆる難しい単語を使う

…これはある要素の強調というよりは単に話のインパクトを上げるだけかもしれない
