こども英語村の関西地域継続開催クラウドファンディングを開始します！

いつもKIVを応援いただきありがとうございます。
皆様すでに告知によりご存じの方も多いとは思いますが、KIVこども国際村は11月に初の関西でのこども英語村プログラム開催、また来年以降も継続して行うためのクラウドファンディングを明日10/1より開始いたします。
Thank you for your continued support of KIV. As many of you may already know from the announcement, Kids International Village Japan will start crowdfunding tomorrow, October 1, to hold the first Kids International Village outdoor program in the Kansai region in November, and to continue the program next year and beyond.
2017年11月に活動開始、2018年2月26日に初めてのこども英語村が開催されて以来、多くの皆様からの口コミにより常に一日以内にチケットが売り切れるほどの人気イベントとなりました。今回は6年間の集大成として、今まで予算の都合により関東以外では開催することのできなかった、また以前より開催希望をいただいていた関西地域での英語村開催、こどもたちが気軽に外国人の方と会えて遊べる環境づくりに取り組みます。
Since the first Kids International Village was held on February 26, 2018, the event has become popular with word of mouth from many people. This time, as the culmination of six years of activities, we will hold the Kids International Village in the Kansai region, which we have been unable to hold outside of the Kanto region due to budget constraints, and which we have received requests to hold in the past, to create an environment where children can easily meet and play with foreigners.
元々私自身はそれ以前に1年間世界を周る機会があったなかで、日本人が世界中の人々とのコミュニティに入っていかない現実を見ることが多々あり、時が経つに連れそれはいつしか、日本また日本人のメンタリティを少しずつ変えていきたい、それならば自分が好きな子どもを対象として幼少期から外国人の方と会って堂々と話せる環境をつくりたいと思いこの活動をはじめました。
Originally I had the opportunity to travel around the world for a year. And, I often saw the reality that Japanese people do not join communication with people around the world. Then, I realized that I should change the mentality of Japan and the Japanese people little by little, and I want to create an environment where children who I love can meet and talk openly with foreigners from an early age.
とは言え、お金もない、活動する箱もない中で私になにができるか？と考えた末に生まれたのが、誰もが気軽に無料で使える公園で、青空の下、こどもたちと外国人が一斉に集い、思いっきり身体を動かして遊べてなおかつお話しもできる「こども英語村」だったのです。
However, with no money and no space for activities, I wondered what I could do. The result was the "Kids International Village," where children and foreigners could gather together under the blue sky in a park that anyone could use and free of charge, play and move their bodies as they feel like, and talk with each other.
しかも呼ぶのは日本では英語で誰と話す？といったら当たり前のように考えられている「英語の先生」ではなく、一般の外国人の方。
だって英語は、英語の先生だけが使う、教科としての言語ではなく、世界中で一番多くの人が使う、無料のコミュニケーションツールだからです。
Furthermore, the International people whom we invite is not "English teacher," which is taken for granted in Japan, but an ordinary foreigner. This is because English is not a subject language used only by English teachers, but a free communication tool used by the largest number of people in the world.
なのに昨今の日本では「英語」は多くのお金をかけないと手に入れられないものになっています。それは英語を使う機会がない、英語を話す人が周りにいない、希少価値の高いものになっているからです。
私はそんな、本来はもっと気軽に外国人の方に会って話せる機会、また異言語で話す機会を、幼少期から身近に感じられる社会にしたいと思っています。
In Japan today, "English" is something you have to spend a lot of money to get. This is because there are no opportunities to use English, there are no English speakers around, and it has become a scarce commodity. I would like to create such a society where people can feel familiar with the opportunity to meet and talk with foreigners more easily and in different languages from an early age.
現在KIVこども国際村では4つのプログラムを通して、そういった環境を整えようとしていますが、もちろんたかがイベントやプログラムをしたって環境ががらっと変わるわけではありません。
Currently, Kids International Village Japan is trying to create such an environment through our four programs, but of course, only holding the events and programs will not drastically change the environment.
けれども地道にひとつひとつの毎月毎日の活動、プログラムをすることによって、参加者やその周りの人、スタッフや外国人サポーターにだって影響を少なくとも残し、少しでも国際交流や異言語を話すことに意識を向けてもらうことで、「今日外国人の人とあいさつすることができた！」「今度は他のことも聞いてみよう」「今度は目をみてみよう」「英語であんなことが言えた！」など、一つ一つの出来事がいずれはそれが大きなうねりとして社会に変化をもたらすものだと信じております。
However, through each monthly activity and program, we can at least leave an impact on the participants, the people around them, the staff, and even the international supporters, by making them aware of international exchange and speaking different languages, even if only a little, children can think "I was able to say hello to the people around the world today! I can say something like that in English!" "let's ask something else to foreigners next time!" "I will look them in their eyes next time".
I believe that each event will eventually have a big impact on society including children.
その5年半の一つ一つの活動での積み重ねを、今度は関西でも種をまいて、こどもたちが勇気をもって外国人と話せる、気軽に遊べる環境を創りたいです。
Based on the results of our activities over the past five and a half years, we would like to plant seeds in the Kansai region and create an environment where children can have the courage to talk with foreigners and play casually with them.
