２．Bamboo Airways will re-operate flights to Taiwan and Japan in November 2021, with a frequency of 1 flight/week, in order to meet the needs of Vietnamese people with the purpose of study, working, visiting relatives abroad and foreigners returning home.
３．Online Networking Event was held with more than 200 representatives from accommodation facilities.
A survey was conducted on the overview picture of Vietnam tourism and future recovery.
- About 50% chose Phu Quoc as the soonest recovered destination by 2022, while Nha Trang or other localities heavily dependent on international visitors are expected to recover more slowly.
- Resorts nearby major cities are also expected for recovery prospects. The 4-star hotel segment is predicted to recover faster than the 5-star one.
- The majority think the decline in international arrivals will still be the main obstacle for the tourism industry in 2022 and 2023.
4. VNAT has built a system of vaccination certification according to European standards in order to be ready to welcome international visitors when international tourism is reopened.
This system has also been integrated into the App Safe Vietnam Travel of VNAT.
>> Previously, the Government had a pilot plan to open Phu Quoc island for travel, using vaccine passports. However, with the current severe situation, and the lack of vaccination for Phu Quoc residents, I think this plan is far from feasible.
