№18. シンガポールで思う新型コロナのあれこれ

世界中でオミクロン株の感染爆発が止まりません。

欧米に比べてやや遅れてやってきた日本。そして、シンガポールも同様に直近の1～2週間で新規感染が増えてきました。

あれこれ考えると不安は尽きませんが、一方で

このオミクロン株が最後の大波なのでは？

今回のがピークアウトしたら、新型コロナはようやくインフルや季節のカゼのようになるのでは？

と期待する声もあります。

専門家でもなんでもない私には分かりません。

それに今までこういう楽観的予測に何度期待し、そして裏切られてきたことか。

なのでもう、過度な楽観論や悲観論には反応せず、ありのままを受け入れるのが一番だと思っています。

とはいえ、日々見聞きするニュースに思うところはあります。

今回はそれをあくまで個人の所感としてまとめてみようと思います。

シンガポールでは、新型コロナ対策に新たな指針が打ち出されました。

ワクチン認証（アプリ）を維持するのに3回目のブースター接種が必要となったのです。

ワクチン接種率87％（21年12月時点）と世界でも早々に高水準の接種率に至ったシンガポール。

これから多くの人が2回目のワクチンの効き目が切れてくると言われる9ヶ月を経過していきます。

そこで今、シンガポール政府は3回目のブースター接種を推し進めています。

ワクチン認証（アプリ）がないともはやシンガポールでは生活できません。

ショッピングセンターにもレストランにも行けない。スーパーに買い出しにすら行けない。（タイトル画像のように、エニタイムもシンガポール全店で入口でワクチン認証のチェックを行っています）

この運用が始まった頃、こんな面倒なことがいつまでも続くわけがないと思ってました。

ほとんどの建物に入る度にスマホを取り出して、アプリを開いて提示しなきゃいけない。出入口もチェックを効率化するために半分くらいはクローズされていて、ものすごい遠回りしなきゃいけない。

とにかく普通に生活していて、まあ面倒くさいこと。

しばらくの間の辛抱だから仕方ないと思っていました。

2回目接種の効き目が切れる頃には、この運用が終了することを期待していました。

しかし、「ワクチン認証の維持には3回目のブースター接種が必須」という発表が出て、これがまだまだ当分続くのだなと。

私もシンガポールに入国する条件として、2回のワクチン接種を日本で済ませてからやってきました。

2回目接種のあとはひどい高熱にうなされました。できれば3回目は回避したかった。でも、もうそんな状況ではないようです。

3回目のブースター接種をシンガポールですることになりそうです。

ここシンガポールでワクチン認証を取らずに生活するなんて、不可能。

仕事にもいけない、買い物もできない、ご飯も食べられない。

これはシンガポール政府から「できれば協力してくださいね」なんてレベル感ではなく「必須です。以上！」というメッセージです。

郷に入っては郷に従えです。

もちろん、ワクチンは本当に有効なのか？そこまで人の人権を奪っていいのか？など、個人的に思うことはあります。

ですが、この新型コロナとの闘いは個人プレーではどうにもなりません。

それぞれの国が全国民のチームプレーで闘わなきゃいけません。それには作戦を立て、実行する人が必要です。

そのリーダーたる人が、考えに考え抜いて出した答えがこれだというなら、それにはやはり従わなければいけません。

誰もが100％の答えなんて持っていない。それでも闘いをやめるわけにはいかない。

ワクチン3回目の嫌さ、日々の生活の不便など、まあ色々ありますが、いつか必ず終わるその日のために、引き続きがんばっていきたいと思います。

Japan came a little later than the West. And Singapore has also seen an increase in new infections in the last 1-2 weeks. I'm still worried when I think about it, but on the other hand "Isn't this Omicron strain the last big wave?" "If this peaks out, will the Covid-19 finally become like influenza and seasonal colds?” Some people expect it. I'm not an expert, I don't know. And how many times have I expected and betrayed such optimistic predictions? So I think it's best to accept it as it is, without reacting to excessive optimism or pessimism. However, there is something I think about the news that I see and hear every day. This time, I'd like to summarize it as an individual impression. In Singapore, new guidelines have been set for measures against the Covid-19. A third booster vaccination was required to maintain the vaccine certification (app). Singapore has a vaccination rate of 87% (as of Dec 21), which is one of the fastest in the world. 9 months will pass, when many people say that the second vaccine will no longer be effective. So now the Singapore government is pushing for a third booster vaccination. We can no longer live in Singapore without vaccine certification (app). I can't go to the shopping center or the restaurant. I can't even go shopping at the supermarket. (As shown in the title image, AF also checks vaccine certification at the entrance of all stores in Singapore.) When this operation started, I thought that such troublesome things couldn't last forever. Every time I enter most of the buildings, I have to take out my smartphone, open the app and present it. The doorway is also half closed to make the check more efficient, and you have to make a tremendous detour. Anyway, living normally, it's a hassle. I thought it couldn't be helped because I was patient for a while. By the time the second vaccination was no longer effective, I expected that this operation would end. However, there was an announcement that "a third booster vaccination is essential to maintain vaccine certification," and this will continue for the time being. As a condition for entering Singapore, I also came after completing 2 vaccinations in Japan. After the second vaccination, I had a terrible high fever. I wanted to avoid the third time if possible. But it doesn't seem like that anymore. The third booster vaccination is likely to be in Singapore. It is impossible to live here in Singapore without vaccination. Can't work, can't shop, can't eat anything. This is not a level feeling from the Singaporean government, "Please cooperate if possible", but a feeling of "essential. That's it!". When you enter the town, follow the town. Of course, is the vaccine really effective? Is it okay to deprive people of human rights to that extent? I personally think about it. However, the fight against this Covid-19 can't be helped by individual play. Each country must fight in team play of all the people. It requires someone to plan and execute the strategy. If this is the answer that the leader has come up with, then he must obey it. No one has a 100% answer. Still, we can't stop fighting. There are various things such as the dislike of the third vaccine and the inconvenience of daily life, but I will continue to do my best for the day when it will surely end someday.
