What's 'Joushi Gacha' in Japan ?

This  word was coined as a metaphor for 'Gachapon', a machine that we cannot choose what we want in advance.
it describes a situation where we cannot select between a good or a bad boss.

Recentry, 'Oya Gacha'(=Parent Gacha: you cannot choose your parents), 'Haizoku Gacha'(=Department Gacha: you cannot choose the department you belong to ) are also used to describe situations that are beyond your control.

How is 'Joushi Gacha' In Japanese Startups ?

I've worked at two Japanese startups and I think that choosing a bad boss is often happened in startups ..
Off course, there are many Startup companies, and the way people feel under same bosses is can vary greatly from person to person.

However, I work in the HR department and handle procedures for joining and leaving the company.
in my experiences, I noticed that it is difficult for superiors to improve management skills in startups, which causes subordinates not to have good bosses.

How to avoid the stress from unfit boss ?

people who can avoid such bad situation

1 Running away:
the most efficient way is escape from the situation, i.e. leave the company.
The reason I recommend it is because it's easy to move from one startup to another.
Many startups are looking for people with basic business skills, so it is easy to land a new job at another startup with your current skills.

2 Building another network
When things aren't going well with your team or department, it will help you feel comfortable to build relationships with other departments or people outside your team.
For example, if you have a boss you cannot understand his/her feeling, it will be difficult to work comfortably at work.
At that time, if you have another network and can talk in a relaxed manner, you will be able to notice not only bad points but also the good points in your company.

Summary:

The main point to stay in your company is to build a variety of networks outside of your boss and team.
if you do this, you will be able to have wider perspective  within the company and be able to work comfortably because you won't have worry about your boss even if you don't have a good boss.
