［えびすや本店］名古屋で初ご飯 | First meal in Nagoya (Ebisuya Honten)

こんばんは、
名古屋まで送ってくれた伊豆市の地元の方と名古屋で初ご飯！
名物色々ある中で選ぶのは大変でしたが、
寒かったので、「きしめん」を食べに行くことにしました！

事前に調べてなかったので、ググって1番入りやすくて、
駐車場がありそうなお店を選んでみました！

Hello,
I had lunch with the person who drived me to Nagoya city from Izu city. 
Nagoya has many food specialities, so it was kinda hard to choose what to eat for my first meal in Nagoya.
Today was pretty chilly so decided to go with “Kishimen”.

Note: “Kishimen” is a unique noodle commonly found in Nagoya, in short, a flat type of udon noodles, made from the same basic ingredients.

I opened Google and searched for a restaurant that serves Kishimen noodles and has parking spaces.

So hopefully you enjoy my experience at Ebisuya Honten.

外観 | Exterior

駐車場の案内が独特すぎたんだけど、撮るの忘れましたw
看板は「20m先西」って書いてありました。
右や左ではなく「西って」っと思いちょっと新鮮でしたww

I forgot to take a picture, but the parking lot sign was a bit unique!
What was written on the sign was “20m west”.
Usually these signs uses “right” or “left”, but “west” was a first for me! Maybe it’s a Nagoya thing?!

内観 | Interior

中に入ってみると、すごい老舗感が伝わりました！
窓ガラス越しにきしめん作ってる店員さんの姿を通ってその奥から、テーブル席がずらっと。
テキトーに空いてる席に座る感じだから、ウチらも他の一見さんも座っていいのか戸惑いました(苦笑)

メニューの種類が多過ぎて、選ぶのに一苦労でした。
とりあえず無難に「カレーなんば」をチョイス！

You can feel the well-established atmosphere right after entering the restaurant.
you can observe the staff making Kishimen noodles through the window.
Ebisuya’s staff doesn’t seat the customers so gotta choose an open table to sit at. 

There was a long list on the menu, which made it hard for us to decide what to get. I ended up ordering “Curry Nanban Kishimen” (chicken curry soup with Kishimen noodles).

カレーなんば　きしめん

提供までそんなに待たなかったのですが、
カレーが熱々でとろとろだったので、全然冷めず、猫舌なウチはカレーなんばとある意味格闘しましたww
カレーは熱すぎましたが、結構好きな感じでした！

肝心のきしめんですが、、、、
多分記憶が正しければ、人生初きしめん。
思ってたよりコシがなくてびっくりしました！
なのでもっと普通の卵とじかあっさりしてるのを選べばよかったかなぁって思ったりしました。
正直言って、きしめんよりうどん・そば派です (⇦名古屋人の皆さんすみませんww)

Didn’t take long to be served with our noodles.
The curry was so hot and simmered well…so well that it took too long to cool down a bit. 
Even though it was super hot, the curry was yummy!

But the main part of are lunch…the kishimen noodles was…
how should I put it…
I mean it was good but not really to my taste. 
It didn’t have the stiffness/chewiness texture that I imagined it would have so it made it even more difficult to eat. ‘Cuz when I pull it up to eat it, it would cut into pieces automically ^^;
So after my first experience trying Kishimen noodles, I decided to stick with udon or soba (lol)
