タライに月を映し、毬と、梶の葉の裏に願い事を添えて !　【一茶庵稽古追想】 Reflect the moon on the basin and add a wish to the back of the Kaji leaf and Mari(ball)

七夕は、7月7日。
ご存知のように、すべての暦(こよみ)は新暦で行われている。
その昔、旧暦で行われていた歳時や祭り事は、いまの新暦でいうと当然ながら季節のズレが生ずる。
自然の摂理に基づいて行われていた事が、新暦に準ずると違和感が生じる。そういう違和感をもつ祭り事の中で七夕もそうである。新暦では7月7日であるが、旧暦にあてはめると通年8月10日前後となる。

Tanabata is July 7th.
As you know, all calendars are adopted in the new calendar. In the olden days, the old calendar and festivals that were held in the old calendar naturally have seasonal shifts in the current new calendar.
What was done based on the providence of nature creates a sense of incongruity according to the new calendar. Tanabata is one of the festivals that makes us feel uncomfortable. It is July 7th in the new calendar, but when applied to the lunar calendar, it is around August 10th throughout the year.

いつもは8月10日前後に夜空を眺めると、もしかすると天の川と織姫星と彦星と上弦の月が見られるかもしれない。上弦の月があっての七夕のようだ。この時期が一番織姫星と彦星が接近する。しかし天の川を挟んでいるから逢うことはない。
そこで、彦星が上弦の月に乗って織姫に逢いに行く。そんな楽しい伝説がある。だから七夕は、上弦の月を入れ”七夕伝説”が成り立っているようだ。

If you usually look at the night sky around August 10, you may see the Milky Way, Orihime, Hikoboshi, and the first quarter moon. It is like a tanabata with a first quarter moon. At this time, Orihime and Hikoboshi are closest to each other. However, since it is across the Milky Way, they will never meet.
Hikoboshi rides on the first quarter moon and goes to see Orihime. There is such a fun legend. Therefore, it seems that the "Tanabata Legend" is established in Tanabata with the first quarter moon.

さて、稽古で写真にあるお軸が掛かっていた。
これが七夕を表現するお軸 ?
賛を観ても画を観ても、七夕を想像させる要素が全く見あたらない。なら、画はなにか、ということから始まった。たぶん毬(まり)だろう。なら、葉っぱは何なんだろう、となるが思い当たるものが出てこない。
賛の漢詩を詠むと最後に「乞巧(きっこう)」と書かれてある。ご存知の方も多いだろうが、この言葉が、中国でいう七夕のこと。
七夕は、古代中国の祭り事である。それが日本に伝わり日本の風俗や地域にあった七夕に変化していった。中国はいまも七夕を祝う風習はあるようだ。日本のようにお供えをするらしい。中国の場合、女性のお祝い事のようである。裁縫や手芸が上手になりますように、と。
賛に書いてある七針(針に七つの糸を通す穴がある)で七色毬をつくる。その毬を置いて、七夕の夜に天の川と2つの星、そして月をたらいに映し出し、梶の葉の裏に願い事を書いて浮かべるというお遊び。だから、毬に梶の葉を添えて七夕を表現している。

I can't find any element that makes me imagine Tanabata, whether I look at the praise or the picture. Then, what was the picture? Probably Mari. Then, I wonder what the leaves are, but I can't think of anything.
When I read the Chinese poetry of praise, it says "Kikkou" at the end. As many of you may know, this word is Tanabata in China.
Tanabata is an ancient Chinese festival. It was transmitted to Japan and changed to Tanabata, which was in the Japanese customs and region. It seems that China still has a custom of celebrating Tanabata. It seems to offer offerings like Japan. In the case of China, it seems to be a women's celebration. I hope you will be good at sewing and handicrafts.
Make a seven-colored needle with the seven needles (the needle has a hole for passing seven threads) written in praise. A play in which the Milky Way, two stars, and the moon are projected on a basin on the night of Tanabata, and a wish is written and floated on the back of the Kaji leaf. Therefore, the tanabata is expressed by adding Kaji leaves and Mari.

解説を聞いていると一つの祭り事でも、時代や地域、また人の捉え方で内容が異なる。基本情報をおさえながらそれぞれの捉え方で楽しむのがいいのかも。

When listening to the commentary, even one festival has different contents depending on the times, regions, and people's perceptions. It may be better to enjoy each way of thinking while holding down the basic information.

昨夜は全国的に雨、曇りで夜空に天の川は見ることはできなかった。旧暦でいうと8月10日前後だから、もう一度チャンスがあるかも。ぜひ!
