淡路島が、いま注目。観光地、特産品の充実をはかる。 Awaji Island is now in the spotlight. Improve tourist spots and special products.

先週、先月に引き続いて南あわじ市に行った。天気に恵まれた一日だった。
淡路島は1965年以降、1市10市町村体制が続いていたが、市町村合併によって2005年に南あわじ市、淡路市が誕生し、翌年、五色町が洲本市と合弁し3市体制に。北から淡路市、洲本市、そして四国徳島に近い南あわじ市である。

Last week, I went to Minamiawaji City following last month. It was a nice day.
Since 1965, Awaji Island has been in a system of 10 municipalities per city, but due to the merger of municipalities, Minamiawaji City and Awaji City were born in 2005, and the following year, Goshiki Town joined with Sumoto City to form a three-city system. From the north, Awaji City, Sumoto City, and Minamiawaji City near Tokushima, Shikoku.

その淡路島が、いま話題の島として注目を集めている。周知のように、人材派遣の最大手 パソナが本社を東京から淡路島に移す計画を発表したこともあり、全国的に注目されることになった。

Awaji Island is now attracting attention as a hot topic island. As is well known, Pasona, the largest temporary staffing agency, has announced plans to move its headquarters from Tokyo to Awaji Island, which has attracted national attention.

関西では、もともと自然の宝庫としてレジャーに人気のある島である。さらに、明石海峡大橋が開通することにより、四国へ渡るにも、また淡路島観光のアクセスとして大変便利になっている。
そのおかげで、各種のリゾート開発が進み、一大リゾート観光地になりつつある。淡路島の各市もこぞって特産品や観光スポットの整備が急ピッチで進められている。

In Kansai, it is an island that is originally popular for leisure as a treasure trove of nature. Furthermore, with the opening of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, it has become very convenient for crossing Shikoku and for sightseeing in Awaji Island.
Thanks to this, various resort developments are progressing and it is becoming a major resort tourist destination. Each city on Awaji Island is also developing special products and tourist spots at a rapid pace.

今回訪ねた南あわじ市は、徳島 鳴門に近い、淡路島では南端の市である。海の幸、山の幸も豊富で特産品が盛りだくさん。全国ブランドとして淡路島の「玉ねぎ」はもちろんであるが、海の幸として「3年とらふぐ」の養殖は注目を集めている。
歴史文化では、国生みの島として数々の歴史遺産も豊富で、文化面ではとくに古典芸能である「淡路人形浄瑠璃」が有名である。訪れる観光客の目玉になっている。

The city of Minamiawaji that I visited this time is the southernmost city on Awaji Island, near Naruto, Tokushima. There are plenty of seafood and mountain food, and there are plenty of special products. As a national brand, not only "onions" on Awaji Island, but also "3 years torafugu" as a seafood is attracting attention.
In terms of history and culture, it has abundant historical heritage as a nationally-born island, and in terms of culture, the classical performing art "Awaji Ningyo Joruri" is particularly famous. It is the centerpiece of visiting tourists.
