新世界への通り小路「ジャンジャン横丁」の匂い 　The smell of "Janjan Yokocho", a street alley to the Shinsekai

大阪御堂筋線動物園前駅1番出口を出て薄暗いJR高架トンネルをくぐるとジャンジャン横丁商店街。懐かしい古びた昭和の匂いがプンプンする狭い路地裏商店街。この路地は新世界、通天閣への歓楽参道として名を馳せている。

狭い商店街の中はほぼ飲食店が軒を連ねる。飲食店のほとんどが串カツ屋、それに寿司屋に立ち飲み屋、そして一段と色鮮やかに人目を惹いたのが祭りでよく見かける射的屋。

平日のお昼時のせいもあってか飲食店は賑わっていた。ほとんどが地元客のようだ。それもコップ片手に命の水(緊急事態宣言解除後)を、会話をつまみに旨そうに呑んでいた。筆者も仲間入りし上善如水を楽しみたかったが、とりあえず新世界へ。

Take Exit 1 of Dobutsuen-mae Station on the Osaka Midosuji Line and go through the dim JR elevated tunnel to the Janjan Yokocho Shopping Street. A narrow back alley shopping street with a nostalgic old Showa scent. This alley is famous as a pleasure approach to Tsutenkaku, the Shinsekai.
Most of the restaurants are lined up in the narrow shopping district. Most of the restaurants are kushikatsu restaurants, sushi restaurants, standing bars, and the more colorful and eye-catching shooting shop that you often see at festivals.
The restaurant was crowded, probably because of lunch on weekdays. Most seem to be locals. They also swallowed the water(sake) of life (after the state of emergency was lifted) with a glass in his hand, with a conversation as a knob. I also wanted to join the ranks and enjoy Jozen-mizunogotoshi, but for the time being, I went to the Shinsekai.
