瞬間芸術、その先に残るもの

学問の神様として知られる菅原道真公は、書道の神様としても信仰されています。

今年は、3年ぶりに書道の揮毫会（きごうかい）が開催され、ありがたきことに、姪っ子が最優秀賞を頂き、太宰府天満宮のサイトにてその揮毫の「瞬間」をご紹介下さっております。

一枚の作品を書き上げるのに、1分もかからない。

でも、その一枚の作品を「自分の作品」として仕上げるために費やす時間は、何十時間にも及びます。

瞬間とは、
《またたきをする間》。きわめて短い時間。

その一瞬に何十時間ものエネルギーを投入し、
その一瞬を経て、人生の思い出とも言えるほどの記憶や深い体験記を作っていく

自分が生み出す「瞬間」に何を忍ばせるのか？
「瞬間」の時が過ぎ去った後に余韻、余光、余波を残せるようになれば、その生き様が「瞬間芸術」にみえるのだろうな

そんなことを考えさせられました。

当日、審査員長の先生からのお話しによると
「日本全国でも、席上揮毫をしているところは、太宰府のこの揮毫会だけです」とおっしゃっていたそうです。

そして「非常にレベルが高い」と。

筆先を揃えて白紙に向かい、一発勝負
この場の特徴を深く理解した指導者とこどもたちが集まる舞台。

芸術の本質を追求されている場所が、太宰府なのだなと。

"The Art of the Moment, What Remains Beyond that Moment"

Sugawara Michizane, known as the god of learning, is also worshipped as the god of calligraphy.

This year, for the first time in three years, a calligraphy contest was held on site, and thankfully, my niece won the grand prize. Her work is introduced on the official FB page of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

It takes less than a minute to write one piece of calligraphy.

But it takes dozens of hours to create a piece of work that embodies one's artistic expression.

The dictionary definition of "moment" is
the time between two flaps of the wrist, an extremely short time.

However, dozens of hours of energy are invested in making that moment. Through that moment, you create memories and experiences so profound that they can be called the memories of your life.

What do you put into the "moment" you create?

If you can leave afterglow beyond the "moment" has passed your life will be seen as "art of the moment.
