The dropping of the atomic bomb was like a "human experiment to obtain data on killing power" made by the "madness" of war.

The title may be associated with a biased view.
However, now that I was born and raised in Nagasaki and started to be aware of the curtain on my life, I felt the need to draw a conclusion.
Perhaps this conclusion will be overturned in the future. However, the wording that I arrived at as a result of concentrating all my possible nerves was like a title.

I dedicate this article to the junior high school students who come to Nagasaki to learn peace and war.

I reread the material video and books about "Unit 731".
Seiichi Morimura wrote in his book "Devil's Satiety" about the Japanese army unit that conducted horrific human experimentation on foreigners under the name of "Bacterial Warfare Unit" as follows. increase.

"... The war is set up with drugs that, to varying degrees, put soldiers into a common madness. In peacetime, it should be called a terrifying "drug" that (usually) makes good small citizens go crazy. The drug has the effect of forgetting even the purpose of the war and entertaining the evil rebellion (terrible wrongdoing that is out of the way of human beings) that is absolutely unforgivable in peacetime under the "lawless freedom" created by the war. .. It can be said that the army went for fun in the outrage that human beings have in the war. In other words, it is "outrageous for entertainment." 』

I don't want to call the dropping of the atomic bomb "entertainment", but it was caused by "madness" that lost the "human heart". I think it would not be an exaggeration to say, "If you do it, you have to do it now, do it!"

The Japanese Imperial Headquarters, which was aware of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan from the intelligence department, but devoted itself to self-protection and did not even issue an air raid warning, was terrible.
However, the powerlessness of President Truman, the commander-in-chief of the US military who dropped it, was no less terrible.

It was Lieutenant General Leslie Groves, the commander of the Manhattan Project, who was effectively the commander-in-chief of the atomic bombing program. It seems that even Roosevelt, who died suddenly just before the end of the war, knew almost nothing about the specific content.
Therefore, Truman, who took office in a hurry, could not have had that knowledge, nor had the experience or ability to wield his skills as the commander-in-chief of the US military.

I can understand that well, but in fact, Truman had many chances to stop the atomic bombing from a humane standpoint, even if he was an ordinary person if he seriously investigated and considered it.

With a huge budget and the madness of scientists, Groves first presented Truman with a 24-page atomic bombing plan and sought approval. Truman, on the other hand, exposes his incredible incompetence.
He said, "I hate reading reports."
We still know if the report spans hundreds of pages. But only 24 pages.
It's also the first indiscriminate mass murder weapon of mankind, and even if he didn't know anything about it, why couldn't this ordinary man do enough to scrutinize it?

Since then, they have spent a considerable amount of time with Secretary of the Army Stimson, whether to make the drop point in Kyoto, or in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, or Kokura, which have a strong military character.
At that meeting, there was no fundamental idea of what an atomic bomb was, and the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
When the B-29 dropped the atomic bomb, Truman said in a good mood, "I dropped it only on military targets."
However, when he saw a photo of many civilians killed in Hiroshima on August 8, he sank, "I am the president responsible for such vandalism."
Contrary to these words, without the determination to instruct the drop to be stopped, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki on August 9, the following day, while Truman was worried. (By the way, the Japanese Imperial Headquarters did not give any warning or instruction while catching this drop.)

As a result, more than 200,000 people died in two days, and a terrifying number suffered long (still) sequelae and emotional distress.
After dropping Nagasaki, Truman wrote in his diary, "I regret having killed all the people."
And on the following day, 9th, he finally issued an order to stop dropping the atomic bomb.

The content was to blame Truman, but in reality, Truman was the only one who could stop this atomic bombing plan at that time.
After that, he made a speech saying, "I dropped the atomic bomb to save the lives of many Americans and Japanese people (ended the war)," and made the beginning of the subsequent nuclear development. It was to afflict the A-bomb survivors.

How did the scientists and military personnel, who were obsessed with "madness" and accomplished the "human experimentation to obtain killing power data" as desired, know the damage?
Are they satisfied?
I want to know about it.

Also this year, August 9th is coming ...
