ラトビア・リガ空港撮影情報
基礎情報 / Basic info
地理的には東ヨーロッパに位置し、バルト三国の中央に位置するラトビア。リトアニア、エストニア、ベラルーシ、ロシアと国境を接し、EUかつNATOの加盟国です。シェンゲン協定にも加盟しており、使用通貨はユーロです。EUの中では物価は高くなく、日本と同じか安いぐらいです。
Latvia is geographically located in East Europe, and it is the middle of the Baltic States, bordering with Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus and Russia. It is a member of the European Union, NATO and Schengen Agreement, and the currency is Euro. Prices are not high compared to other EU countries.
そんなラトビアですが、撮影目的で渡航される方は少ないと思われます。英語媒体でも情報は限られているのですが、ラトビア・リガ空港の撮影情報について日本語で紹介したいと思います。
I assume that (unfortunately) not so many people visit Latvia for plane spotting, so here is all about aviation spotting at Riga Airport, information provided in English!

撮影は合法で、止められることはありませんでした。ただ、空港には展望デッキがないようで、外周からの撮影のみです。また、私はまだ1か所でしか撮影したことがないので、ほかの場所の情報についてはネット上の情報を参考にしてください。
Spotting is legal, and I have never been stopped by the authorities to photograph airplanes. However, it seems there is no official spotting deck at the airport. Since I have spotted at only one place, I suggest you to take a look at other information on the internet for futher information.
さすがAir Balticのお膝元だけあって、同社のCS300が沢山発着します。ただ、時間帯によってかなり波があるので、朝晩のラッシュ以外は少し閑散としています。また、Air Balticのベースがリガだけでなくエストニアやリトアニア、フィンランドに分散している点や、SWISSやEurowingsに機体を貸し出していることがあるという点から、リガに数日いれば全機コンプリートできるかというとそういうわけでもないです。
There are so many CS300 departing and arriving at this airport since this is the biggest hub of Air Baltic. However, the airport is mostly quiet except for rush hours in the morning and in the evening. Also, since Air Baltic has bases not only in Riga but also in Lithuania, Estoania and Finland, you will not be able to photograph every aircraft of Air Baltic just by staying in Riga for a few days. Also, some airplanes are often leased for other airlines such as SWISS and Eurowings.
撮影スポット / Spotting locations
１．空港西側の丘 / Mound on the western side of the airport
空港西側のSkulte地区にある撮影スポットです。道路脇に小さな丘があって、そこから撮影できます。フェンスをクリアできるので、視界が良いです。最寄りのバス停はSkulteというバス43系統の終点ですが、リガ中心部は通るものの空港は経由しません。空港から向かわれる場合は乗換が必要です。
This is located on the western side of the airport. There is a small mound by a street, and you can photograph from the top of the mound. You will not be bothered by a fence. The closest bus stop is "Skulte" which is the final stop of Bus no. 43. The line 43 goes through the city center but not the airport. If you want to reach this spot from the airport, you will need to change a bus.
２．航空博物館 / Aviation Museum
1番で紹介したSkulteの撮影スポットのすぐ近くに、航空博物館があります。博物館とはいっても野ざらしのソ連機が並べてあるだけで、かなり朽ちている様子が分かります。私が行った時には閉まっていたのですが、フェンスが低いので外からでも撮影できます。アエロフロートのTu-134やラトビア航空のAn-24などが並べてありました。また、ソ連レジの飛行機やヘリもたくさん並んでいます。
There is an aviation museum just next to the spotting location #1 "Skulte". It is actually not a proper museum because there is no roof, and old airplanes and helicopters from the Soviet era are lined up, including Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-134 and Latvian Airways Antonov An-24. Note that country code for CCCP is the Soviet Union (USSR). I was able to shoot some of them from outside because the fence was very low.
