Someone wakes up Luke
ブレディが絵の具の作り方を考えているころ、ルークは夜中にいつも目を覚ましていました。誰かの声が聞こえたような、そんな気がしたからです。
でも、その声を、夢の中で聞いたのか、本当に聞いたのかは、よくわかりませんでした。
While Bready was thinking about the way to make paint, Luke kept waking up in the middle of the night. He thought he heard someone's voice, but was not sure if it was real or just a dream.
最初はとても小さい声でしたが、そのうちはっきりと聞こえるようになりました。「目を覚ましなさい。」
The voice was very quiet at first, but got bigger and clearer.
"Wake up."
「そろそろ起きなさい。」
聞こえるのは声だけで、誰もいませんでした。
"It's time to get up."
Luke only heard the voice, but could not see anyone.
ルークはベッドから起き上がり、声のする方へ歩いて行きました。
すると、その声は言いました。
「人々を救う時が来ました。」
Luke got out of bed and walked toward where the voice was coming from.
There the voice said, "It's time to save people."
（人を救う？ これはボクにあてた言葉じゃない。別の人に話してるんだ。
ボクは、夢の中にいるんだ。人を救ったことなんか一度もないんだよ。）
目が覚めたとき、ルークは重たいものを体に乗せられているような気がしました。言葉を聞いたのは、夢ではない気がしました。
（Save people..? That message is for someone else and not me..
I'm in a dream.. I've never saved any single person in my life..）
Luke woke up, feeling as if something heavy were on his body.
The dream was so real.
夢の中なのか、現実なのか
ルークだけに聞こえる声なのか、誰にでも聞こえるのか
それはわかりませんでした。
ただ、声はやみませんでした。
Luke was still unsure if it was a dream and if it was only him who
could hear the voice, but the voice kept on talking to him.
「目を覚ましなさい。」「するべきことがあるでしょう。」
声が何度も聞こえてきます。でも、いつまで経っても、誰も姿を現しませんでした。
「話しかける相手をまちがえてるよ。ボクは、何にも出来ない人だよ。」
ルークはこころの中で、声の主に言いました。
"Wake up." " Do your own homework. "
The voice kept on talking, but no matter how much time passes, the owner of the voice was nowhere to be seen.
"You are talking to the wrong person. I'm nobody," said Luke, in his mind.
（ボクにできることなんかあったっけ。）
ルークはコーヒーを飲みながら、遠い昔に忘れた、島に来る前の自分をゆっくりと思い出していました。
(Is there anything I can do?)
While having a cup of coffee, Luke was slowly remembering long forgotten memories: what he was like before coming to Heno Heno.
