節分 February in Kyoto: the last day of winter

二月の京都
節分に食べる恵方巻と厄除けイワシを売るスーパーの広告で季節を知る。
今年の恵方は「南南東」。無病息災を願い、食べ終わるまで黙って太巻きを丸かじりしました。

The supermarket's advertising reminded me that the season was changing:  "Buy Sushi Rolls for good luck! Buy Sardines to protect against misfortune!"
Today is the last day of winter and the tomorrow is the beginning of spring.
Facing south-southeast, the lucky direction for 2023, I prayed for good health while eating the entire sushi-roll without speaking, believing that would ensure my wish.
