How to speak so that people want to listen

さて、今回は私の好きなTEDのスピーチを紹介したいと思います。

人間の声は、誰かに愛を伝えることも、戦争を始めることもできる、最も力強い音です。

では、

How can we speak powerfully to make change in the world? 

まずは避けるべき7つの事柄についてです。

First, gossip.

誰かの陰口を叩くことです。

Second, judging.

自分が批評されるのは聞いてられません。

Third, negativity.

あまりにネガティブな人の言葉は聞くに耐えません。

And another form of negativity, complaining.

不平は不幸を撒き散らすだけです。

Excuses.

言い訳ばかりで責任転嫁する人の話は聞くに耐えません。

Embroidery, exaggeration.

脚色や誇張は嘘につながります。嘘をつく人には誰も耳を貸しません。

And finally, dogmatism.

意見と事実を混同する人も聞くに耐えません。

これら7つの事柄は私たちが避けるべきことです。

では、is there a positive way to think about this? 

Yes, there is.

There are four really powerful cornerstones, foundations.

頭文字はHAILです。

The H, honesty, of course.

真実を話し、率直に明快であることです。

The A is authenticity.

ありのままであることです。

The I is integrity.

有言実行し、信頼する人物になることです。

And the L is love.

ロマンチックな愛ではなく 皆の幸せを願う愛です。

以上が、私たちが取り組むべき4つの強力な礎です。

Also, now that's what you say, and it's like the old song, it is what you say, it's also the way that you say it.

You have an amazing toolbox.
