Where does motivation come from?
Nice to meet you, my name is gakky.
Through manufacturing, l am disseminating information about the chronic disease "ulcerative colitis."
The other day, I received the following question from an overseas follower on Instagram.
Today, I would like to talk about the question I received and the ``motivation'' that I am especially conscious of when engaging in painting activities.
I've been drawing for over 20 years, but in addition to drawing, I also write about work, hobbies, diet, updating notes, etc...Motivation is useful at any time, so I'd be happy if you could use it as a reference (^ ^)
Please note that I am using a translator, so I am not sure if my words are being understood properly. Thank you for the wonderful request! I will answer sincerely.
my motivation
Motivation is said to be the ``driving force'' that causes people to move towards some goal. My driving force is having fun first. I don't think it's all about having fun, but I try to prioritize fun and excitement in my actions. The main driving force is the feeling of having fun, but there are many other motivations as well.
【Motivation when drawing】
✔︎It's fun to draw
✔︎The happy feeling of being known by so many people
✔︎Interacting with people around the world through drawings
✔︎Being able to express what you like
✔︎When I was able to face myself and grow
✔︎When you receive likes or nice comments
✔︎When I received a painting job
I'm not the type of person who goes home and draws all the time, so the only time I drew a lot was during class. The reason I can continue drawing even as an adult is that
``Painting is a way to express myself.''
Even if something bad happens, I can forget about it while I'm drawing, and when I'm having a hard time, I get excited and think, ``What can I do if I draw now?''
You can look at the picture you drew and see yourself from above, and even if you can't put it into words, you can express what's inside you and what you like, which leads to more fun.
After I started using SNS, I started receiving requests for drawings, clothing designs, and paintings. My illness made me realize once again that "being alive is not something to take for granted," so I decided to do as many things as I wanted to do with a healthy body! That feeling is very strong right now. Maybe being alive is my motivation lol
In the 20 years I've been drawing, there have been countless times when I wasn't able to draw well or felt depressed compared to others. It was too much and I got used to it.
There are countless people who are good at drawing, so I wonder if I can draw well, and what is the difference between me and someone who is good at expressing and appealing? I think about how I can improve even more, so I rarely feel inferior. I have put together an article about how to compare yourself to grow and become positive, so please check out the past articles when you have time!
I don't think I could have lasted this long just by drawing pictures. I love being able to express myself and having people see what I've created! I was asked to do something like that, and I was given a job...
I have several pillars of motivation that have kept me going even after more than 20 years.
I've worked hard to stay healthy, so I'm grateful to be able to express what I like in the way I like, to have people who see my drawings and tell me they like them, and to have people supporting me. I will continue to do my best at my own pace.
In 2024, we will mainly explore ways to visually express the chronic disease ulcerative colitis. In Note, I will continue to post information about behind-the-scenes production, the progress of my chronic illness, and ulcerative colitis. We want to make this a place where people can have fun even if they don't know about the disease or are not interested in it, so please come and see us!
I always read posts from people who like, comment, and follow me, so I would be happy if you could respond!
We look forward to your continued support in 2024 (^^)/
