英語日記チャレンジ / DAY 17

志望大に入るためには英単語の語彙をもっと増やす必要があるという話です。(筆者体調不良のため文法ガバガバかもしれません)

August 5th

　I achieved *memorizing 1000 English words from my summer vacation had started to today. If I memorize more 900 words, I will have completed all the words in "*Target 1900".

　My vocabulary improved *significantly, but I am still not satisfied because it is not enough to pass entrance exam.

　Today, I worked on reading, but I had to give up it on the way. Since there are a lot of words I saw for the first time in the *sentence.

　I think that I have to make much more efforts to enter the university that I want to go. My *stomach hurts…….

*memorize…記憶する
*Target 1900…「英単語ターゲット1900」。センター試験～英検準1級レベルの単語が載っている。筆者はこれを夏休み中にコンプリートするのが目標。
*significantly…かなり
*sentence…文章
*stomach…胃

(こう書きたかったという)和訳

　夏休みが始まってから今日まで英単語を1000個覚えることに成功した。あと900個覚えたら「英単語ターゲット1900」に乗っている全単語をコンプリートできる。
　自分の(英語における)語彙力はかなり改善したが、私はまだ満足していない。なぜなら(私の語彙力は)入試を突破するにはまだ不十分だからである。
　今日私は長文読解に取り組んだが、途中で諦めざるを得なかった。文章の中に初めて出会った単語がたくさんあったからだ。
　志望大に入るには更なる多大な努力をしなければならないと思った。ああ、胃が痛い……。
