私をコケにしないで

　憧れ続けた、あの世界自然遺産に、やっと行くことができた。

その場所は、写真で見ていた世界がそのまま広がっていて、いや、写真以上の、期待を遥かに超える世界だった。

屋久島

　鹿児島県から60km離れた海上に位置する島で、九州最高峰の山、宮浦岳があり、一つの島に亜熱帯から亜高山帯までの幅広い植物や固有種が確認できる神秘的な場所として有名だ。

そこに、ようやく足を踏み入れることができた。

私のイメージしていた屋久島は、絵具で塗られたかのような緑が敷き詰まった世界。それを見たくてみたくてたまらなかった。

今回の旅は....

　2泊3日。短くも長くも無い、少し多めの忘れ物をして、また絶対に戻ってきたくなる旅心をくすぐる日程で訪れた。

予定は、白谷雲水峡と太忠岳がメイン。

実は予定された３日間は、爆弾低気圧が迫っていた頃だったため、天気予報は最悪。

だけど、実際雨が降ったのは予定が終わった後やホテルにいる時くらいで、観光している時や山を登っている時は、雨に打たれることもなく、全日程雨予報は嘘のようだった。

少しの雨のおかげで、緑はいつも以上に生き生きとしているみたいで、しずく滴る感じも堪らなく良く、雨が最高の演出をしてくれた。

そのおかげで

　想像していたあの緑の世界を楽しむことができた。鮮やかな緑色の木々をみて、屋久杉をみて、苔をみて感動できた。

普通なら、苔を道端でみても感動なんてしない。だけど、屋久島の苔は何か違って見えた。まさに、通常が変わる瞬間だった。

屋久島の苔のおかげで

生命力というもの感じれた気がする。あの小さな植物が、一生懸命生きていて、そこら中に根を張って一緒に呼吸している感じが堪らなく愛おしく、美しいと思った。

私をコケにしないでという言葉がある。

このコケは虚仮。苔じゃない。苔とはおそらく関係ない。(と思う。)

だけど、コケだって美しい。私はそのコケに心を奪われたし、世界が評価している、その価値がある。だから、マイナスな意味を持つ言葉に、"コケ" という同じ音が使われているのが無性に腹立たしかった。

コケにしないでっ言わなくてもいいじゃないか。コケにされてもいいじゃないかって。だって、コケはすごいんだから。

Finally, I could make it.

I could go to a place where I wanted to go for a long time. It’s a world heritage site in Japan.

I’d been looking at so many pictures and had imaged how beautiful there are.

It was a really beautiful place and beyond my expectations.

Yakushima island

　Yakushima island, where is located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. It has the highest mountain called Miyanouradake mountain and variety of and unique plants in the island.

My image of Yakushima island is the beautiful green world and Yakusugi ( cedar tree).

FYI, Yakusugi is called over 1000 years old cedar tree. The famous cedar is called Jomon Sugi (縄文杉).

This is tiny cedar tree. I hope it will be great Yakusugi in 1000 years.

I wish I could see you in 1000 years but I’m glad to see you this time.

This time....

I stayed there for 3 days. It’s not short or long and I can enjoy but it makes me want come back again. It because I cannot see everything. It’s a perfect length of traveling time.

The main purpose is going to Shirataniunsuikyo (白谷雲水峡) and Tachudake (太忠岳) in this time.

The weather forecast said it was a rainy all day when I planned but, actually, it’s great days. It was almost sunny days.

I didn’t catch a rain when I climbed or went around the island. It just only rained when I stayed hotels or on the way back.

Even it’s raining, it made the island so beautiful. I really loved raindrops on leaves or mosses.
