Global challenge with Avanade at Fuel conference2023

Noriko of Avanade joins Eric's seminar every week. She has an amazing career, having founded the non-profit organisation “NY de Volunteer” in 2003 in New York with the desire to increase the number of people who act spontaneously on social issues. And she is currently the corporate citizenship leader at Avanade, a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft.

Corporate citizenship is the concept that companies should contribute to society as good citizens in their local communities declared by IBM in 1969. This is in line with the concept of the my Faculty, School of Global Studies and Collaboration at Aoyama Gakuin University, which aims to create a bright future by facing and solving social issues.

This event was introduced by her. She said that Avanade Global was going to organize an awesome and exiting conference with students from all over the world. The title is FUEL Conference 2023.The theme of FUEL Conference this year is 'You are the Change'. The program is designed over four days, with Day 1: 'Do What Matters', Day 2: 'You are the Change', Day 3: 'I am the Change' and Day 4: 'We are the Change'. Day 4 will conclude with 'We are the Change'.

The students from Eric's seminar were also bewildered by their first global conference, but actively participated in the discussions. I think they learned a lot from the heated discussions that took place from the first day.

On the 3rd day, I participated as a guest speaker in a panel discussion. The theme was “Inclusion & Diversity Panel-Inspirational leaders discuss how inclusion is key to the success of a digital future”. By discussing directly with Avanade global executives and learning about the current state of cutting-edge diversity. I was inspired by Avanade great executives. They were really great!!!

Through the 4days great conferece, I felt that social issues should be considered as a global community without national boundaries. The sense of solidarity that brings together colleagues from all over the world, who have never actually met, is one of the best parts of a global conference. I feel proud of the Eric Seminar students who had the courage to participate. That step brings the world closer and brings us together as one. I will continue to actively make use of these great global opportunities in the future. Thank you Noriko and all the Global Avanade members.

We are the Change!

Peace out,.

Eric
