There are many interesting cafes in Japan.
Really? What kinds of cafes are there?
There are many animal cafes like cat cafes, bird cafes, dog cafes, fish cafes.
Oh, there are so many kinds of animal cafes in Japan. At standard cafes, we usually eat and drink. What do you do at animal cafes?
At animal cafes, we can eat and drink, and also spend time with our favorite animals. People can touch, talk to, and play with them. Also, they can meet people who like the same animals there.
I didn't know that.
People like different kinds of things, so it's good for everyone to have a place to talk about their favorite things with other people.
I really like that idea. Do you know any other interesting cafes in Japan?
There are Internet cafes and kominka cafes.
Internet cafes are in England too. But what is a kominka cafe?
"Kominka" means "old "private house." People lived in those houses a long time ago. Later those old houses were made into cafes.
Wow, they are cafes in traditional Japanese houses. What can you do there?
You can experience Japanese culture there. You can sit on tatami, drink Japanese tea, eat matcha ice cream, zenzai, and other Japanese sweets. You can eat traditional Japanese food for lunch or dinner too. It's popular to use old Japanese houses for new things like this.
Oh, I've seen old Japanese houses with big triangular roofs in Gokayama.
What are those old houses?
They are called "gassho zukuri houses." They are World Heritage Sites.
People who live there repair and take care of them. They hope to keep the history of their families and houses.
In my country, we also keep old houses. Many people live in houses that were built about 100 years ago.
I want to visit those old houses in England in the future.

覚える英語表現

it is 形容詞 for 人 to do

これは、「doすることは、人にとって形容詞です」という意味になります。
今回は
it's good for everyone to have a place to talk about their favorite things with other people.
という文で出てきました。
形容詞はgood、人はeveryone、doはhaveとなります。
よって、「持つことは、みんなにとって、良いです」という意味になりますね。

becomeの形

becomeが現在完了の文で出てきました。becomeは、comeと同じ形となり
become-became-become　でA-B-A型です。
新研究の巻末に載っているので、今回becomeの確認と、次いでにほかのA-B-A型の動詞にどいう言うものがあるかを確認してみましょう！
