Butoh Artist in Residence, Taipei 1

舞踏の滞在制作のためのリサーチ本日初日。

It's the first day of research for my Butoh performance at AIR.

近所を歩き回って、気になることを集める。あまりカッチリとした目的を持たずに、分析せずに、空気を吸うぐらいの気持ちで。

I walked around and gathered what I felt interesting. I didn't have any particular purpose. I don't want to analyse them now, just feel like breathing.

朝のウオーキングに近いジョギングでは、朝からブラブラしているおじさんとよくすれ違った。

During running in the morning, I often passed by old men who are killing time.

大きな木の下に集って、歌を歌っている人や楽器の演奏をしているおじさん。集っているが、みんなバラバラの曲をそれぞれが気持ち良くのびのびとやっている。

別の場所でやったほうが音が混じらなくて良いのではないか？と思ったが、そういう考え方ではないようだ。ラジオを流しながら自転車を漕いでいる人多数…

There were old men under the big tree, some were singing and some were playing instruments. Though they were gathering at the same place, they were playing different music separately. 

I thought it would be reasonable if they played it at the different place separately, but it seems not that point that they want to do.

自然に囲まれた場所にいても、ビビットが色が目に飛び込んでくる。やっぱり南の国なんだな～などなど。

My eyes caught many vivid colors even it was in the nature. There are many similar sight Taiwan and Japan, but I felt I was in the tropical country by that.

道教の神様の上には3人の仏様。何で3人かは今度調べる。

That temple had 2 floors. Upper the first floor of Taoism, there were 3 Buddhas. I don't know why 3, I'll search it later.

台湾は建物が面白いと思う。

I feel interesting about Taiwanese buildings.

角を曲がった次に何があるのかわからない、ワクワク感がある。

I'm always attracted a corner because I can't predict what will happen when I turn it.

あと、数がこれでもか！という位多いときがある。

One of the aspects of Taiwan is that so many numbers. Red and yellow are everywhere.

あと、赤と黄色が多い。

夕方に突然始まって突然終わった、中年だらけの運動会。バドミントンのラケットの上にピンポン玉を載せて落とさないように走る競技。謎が多い。

It began suddenly and ended suddenly. Sports day of middle age. They carried a small ball on a racket carefully. There were full of mysteries.
