(洋書を読んだ)"Little Earthquakes" by Jennifer Weiner ★★★★

A happy ending in the end, this was a book about four new mothers and their lives, and the moms supporting each other to overcome their struggles. I liked all the characters in the story. Even the "mean" mother-in-law, "Mimi" who would feed a newborn baby a blueberry muffin, or wear a wedding dress to her own son's wedding, and make rude comments to her daughter-in-law, was likeable to me. I think it was because the phrase, "People who act like that (as in something mean or unbelievable) have often been hurt" really hit me and made me think about how some people's rude or hurtful comments actually come from being hurt themselves in the past. We are what we experience, I guess. I recommend this book to moms, moms-to-be, and grandmothers too, who may want to be careful about what to say/what not to say to maintain a good relationship with their daughters and daughter-in-laws.
