How does this work?

This is a complete computer, because it has diskettes on it?

Yeah, it's a bit like a tape recorder, this, a tape recorder, you sort of record someone talking into it, and you can play it back, and it sounds terrible really, but it's got a lot of practical implications, because this is digital recording as well, it's a recording of a guitar, sounds just like a guitar, eh?

Bernard, what's this kind of a synthesizer?

Well this is a very old fashioned sort of synth, this is a Prophet 5, and it's an analogue

synthesizer, whereas that one's a digital synthesizer, right, that samples sounds, changes them into numbers, and plays them back as audio, yeah, where this just has noise generators that you can program to get any sound you want out of it.
