親愛なる息子へ

今日はPapa 東京出張で、
君に会いに行けないんだ。

今日は、ミルク全部飲めたかな？
リハビリの様子はどうかな？
ぐっすり寝ているかな？

なんて、想像しつつ、にやけながら、
Papaは仕事を頑張るよ。

仕事といっても、今日は勉強のために来たんだけどね。


その後、君のMamaのおじさん、おばさんと会う予定。

おじさん、おばさんは、結婚式にも来てくれたので、御礼と、君のことを伝えたいと思ってるよ。

明日は、Mamaが、Papaの前職の会社やPapaが住んでいた、高田馬場や早稲田近辺をみたいというので、色々と案内する予定。

Papaにとっても、とても懐かしい職場、場所なんだ。

おじさん、おばさんは勿論、Papaの仲良しの
東京の人たちとも、

君は、会う機会が必ずあると思うし、その
時は元気な姿を見せられたらいいな。

Mamaは、おじさんに会うために、写真や、写真フレームを購入してラッピングしていたよ。こういう気配りや心遣いができるMamaを尊敬するよ。

Today, I’m on a business trip to Tokyo, so I can’t come to see you.

I wonder if you drank all your milk today?

How is your rehab going?

Are you sleeping well?


While imagining these things and smiling, I’m working hard.

Actually, I’m here to study today to improve
my business.

Later, I’m meeting your mama’s uncle and aunt.

They came to our wedding, so I want to thank them and tell them about you.

Tomorrow, Mama wants to see my old workplace and the area around Takadanobaba and Waseda where I used to live. I’ll be showing her around.

These places hold many fond memories for me.

You’ll definitely get to meet your uncle, aunt, and my friends in Tokyo someday. I hope you’ll be able to show them how well you’re doing then.

By the way, Mama bought a photo frame and some pictures to wrap as gifts for our visit. I really admire her thoughtfulness and care.
