Easter

A holiday commonly associated with spring in America is Easter (although, like this year, sometimes it is in late March). Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. Many people celebrate Easter by going to church. However, for children there is a different reason to look forward to Easter.

Easter also has a mascot similar to Christmas and Santa Claus, which is the Easter Bunny. On Easter, children leave out an Easter basket and the Easter Bunny will fill it with sweets and sometimes a small gift. The sweets are usually an assortment of jelly beans, chocolates, often shaped like eggs, and most importantly, a large piece of chocolate shaped like a rabbit.

The sweets are of course an exciting part of Easter for children, but what I think is even more enjoyable are Easter egg hunts. Everyone celebrates Easter differently, but when I was a kid my family would color and make designs on eggs with dye. Then, on Easter morning my parents would hide the eggs and we would do an Easter egg hunt to find them. I have very fond memories of competing with my siblings to see who can find the most eggs so I encourage everyone to try it out with their families! Of course we also will be hosting our Easter Egg Hunt event this year as well so please look forward to it!
