Joined an event

I joined an event on Sunday, the 17th with the members of erhu's group lesson. Erhu is 二胡 in Japanese and explained as a chinese violin with two strings.

I've been taking lessons for about 5 years in my current erhu's school. I take the individual lesson once a month and started taking additional group lessons from this year.

The event, a music festival, I joined during the weekend was held at the lessons' facility which has a concert hall. The participants are usually using the facility for their lessons or practice. The other groups were choirs, Japanese classical dancers, and instrument players such as brass band ensemble, band including singers.

My groups' performance went well and I enjoyed playing the erhu with other members. We practice the songs during our group lessons and it was a good opportunity to perform to see how much we can play in front of the audience.

I do get nervous when I perform, but I didn't feel that way this time. My group had 9 members in total. I was relieved enough to play without getting nervous since other members were there on the stage together.

After finishing the performance, I felt more confident playing the erhu than before. However I'm still not so good at playing it, so I want to improve my playing skills.

Since the situations of holding an event is getting easier than last year, my group is planning to play in an event again this year. I'm also thinking of playing again with them together.

I hope I can enjoy playing the erhu and have time to practice for the events coming up. I really had a good time with my group members during the weekend.
