ビブリオバトル公式ルール英語版改訂のお知らせ

ビブリオバトル普及委員会事務局です。

2022年4月1日より、ビブリオバトル公式ルールの文言を一部改訂いたしました。

それに伴い、ビブリオバトル公式ルールの英語版についても再度見直しを行い、ルール本文と詳細の文言も改訂いたしました。
※日本語版と同じく、よりわかりやすい文言にするための改訂であり、内容の変更はありません。

英語版ビブリオバトル公式ルール(改訂後)

[Bibliobattle Official Rules]

  1. Presenters join with a favorite or interesting book.

  2. Each presenter introduces the book for 5 minutes.

  3. After each presentation, all participants discuss the book for 2–3 minutes. 

  4. After all presentations are finished, all participants vote for the book they want to read the most.  The book with the most votes is selected as the “Champion Book”.

Minor regulations

Note:

  1. Presenters join with a favorite or interesting book.

    1. Make sure that each presenter chooses their own book for their presentation.  

    2. An organizer can set a specific topic or theme for the Bibliobattle.

  2. Each presenter introduces the book for 5 minutes.

    1. After exactly 5 minutes, the presenter must finish their presentation immediately.

    2. Presenters should not use handouts or slides, etc.

    3. Presenters must use up all 5 minutes of their presentation time.

  3. After each presentation, all participants discuss the book for 2–3 minutes. 

    1. Participants should not criticize presenters or their presentations. Participants are encouraged to ask questions for additional information which helps them decide which book to vote for.

    2. All participants should contribute to creating a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

    3. Discussion time can be extended by the organizer but should not significantly exceed the original time schedule. 

  4. After all presentations are finished, all participants vote for the book they want to read the most.  The book with the most votes is selected as the “Champion Book”. 

    1. Presenters also have the right to vote. However, they cannot vote for the book they presented. 

    2. The “Champion Book” must be determined by a democratic vote by all participants. Note that all participants have an equal right to vote; that is, the “Champion Book” should not be determined by a small number of people in power, such as the chair, an organizer, or teachers.

Participants refer to both presenters and listeners.

    2. The promoter can set a theme for selecting books.

  2. Introduce your favorite book for 5 minutes, one by one. 

    1. After exactly 5 minutes, the presenter has to finish his or her presentation.

    2. As a rule, handouts, presentation data, or slides, etc. are not recommended.

    3. A presenter must use all 5 minutes to explain about his or her book.

  3. After each presentation, talk about the book for 2–3 minutes with all participants. 

    1. Do not criticize or find fault with others. Ask a question in order to make a judgment on the book you want to read most.

    2. All participants should enjoy the Bibliobattle together.

    3. Discussion time can be extended but should not significantly exceed the original time schedule.

  4. After all presentations, select the "Champion Book" by the votes of all participants, both audience and presenters.
    The criterion is, “a book, which you want to read the most.” The book with the most votes is called the "Champion Book."

    1. A presenter cannot vote for his or her own book .

    2. The “Champion Book” must be determined by a democratic vote by the all participants including presenters and audience. That must not be determined by a small number of people in power, such as a teacher, a chairman or a judge.
