October 16, 2022: Online Morning Book Club, ‘Live with Our Opinion’ (3), Meetings, Handwriting （オンラインモーニング読書会、「自分の意見で生きて行こう（3）、会議、手書き）

I conferred with two other members about this book. First, we talked about the meetings at offices and others. Sometimes, we have them to find an answer, and sometimes, to exchange opinions. We cannot expect many remarks at a meeting to find the answer. It does not allow inappropriate ones. But we can expect many at a meeting to express what we have in our minds. It is a space to express our opinions freely. Meetings in Japan always encourage us to make remarks as much as possible. But if we make a wrong one, we still tend to be under fierce attack. They substantially aim to find an answer and do not allow the exchange of opinions.
We also talked about how to organize our thoughts. The best way for it is to handwrite them. We have a limited capacity to sort them out only in our heads. Using a hand accelerates organizing them. I find the power through journaling.

　本を読んだ後、3人でこの件について話をしました。その一つが社内などの会議での議論のあり方です。会議も「正解を求める会議」と「意見を交わす会議」では、大きな違いがあります。正解を求める会議では間違いは許されないので、発言がすくなくなります。他方、意見を交わす会議では、人それぞれの立ち位置を表明する場なので、自由に発言できます。日本の会議は意見を出そうといいながら、「正解を求める会議」になっている場合が多いとい話になりました。
　また、自分の意見など頭にあることを整理するには、手で紙に書くことが効果的という話もありました。人は、物事を頭の中だけで整理しようとても限界があるそうです。手などを動かすことで、整理も進むようです。これは、ボクもジャーナリングを通じて実感があります。
