October 24, 2021： 有為転変、ラグビーテストマッチ、総選挙 (Changing World, Rugby Test Match with Australia, General Election)

  “Uitenpen” is a Japanese four-character idiom. It means that the world is rapidly changing, and life is full of vicissitudes.
 The Japan national rugby union team showed a strong performance in yesterday’s test match with Australia. The performance reminded me of the excitement I experienced in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Japan’s rugby association has carried out its dramatic transformation that enables foreign-born Japanese to join the national team and causes fierce global competition among players. As a result, the team for the test match includes 12 or 13 foreign-born Japanese who have won the competition, and such a mixed team was uniquely able to push Australia to the brink of defeat.
 Competition should be everywhere. But politics has nothing to do with competition. The Lower House election campaign kicked off but has not thrilled me at all. I am bored with the campaign promises by the parties because I can find no difference at all. No competition!
 I always want to motivate myself to accept and survive any change.

　「有為転変」とい熟語がある。有為転変は世の習いとは、この世は常に激しく移り変わり、とどまることなく変化するものだという意味。
　昨日のオーストラリアとのラグビーテストマッチで、日本代表が大善戦した。2年前のラグビーワールドカップを彷彿とさせるほどの大健闘でした。日本のラグビーのグローバル化はめざましいものがある。昨日の先発メンバーも、外国生まれの日本選手が半分以上を占める。グローバルな競争に勝ち抜いた選手の集団だからこそ豪州と対等に戦えるところまでこれた。
　どの世界もグローバル競争にさらされているはずだが、これとまったく無縁の世界がある。政治の世界。衆院選の選挙戦が始まっていますが、ボクはまったく盛り上がりません。金太郎飴のような各党の公約にうんざり。競争になっていない。
　自身は「有為転変」を常として生きてゆきたい。
