Then he began to sketch again.
In fact, I was surprised that he should have made so many attempts. He still seemed to have the conscience to try it as hard as he could.
He tried to draw the same object again. He could change the scene, if he wanted. In fact, for a second, he had a brief thought to change the scene, but he did not. He hated it to do all over again. So he went on sketching in the same place, trying to draw it as well as he could. But right after this, he was destined for disaster.
About 30 minutes after he began to sketch again, the weather turned bad, and dark clouds began to hang low in the sky. Obviously, this was a sign that it was going to rain soon.
He said to himself, ‘Shit! That is terrible!’ But he continued sketching. He was not allowed to stop sketching at that moment. The sketch was left unfinished. He could not stop it, thoughe he wanted to. Then, large raindrops began to fall on him. But he still continued, getting wet a bit in the rain.
He was also concerned about his sister, who must have been playing somewhere else around him. While he was continuing it, he looked around him to find her. But he could not find her, which was upsetting a bit.
On the other hand, he was very frustrated with being unable to sketch well as he expected. While he was struggling hard to sketch, it was raining harder and harder. It was so hard that he was forced to give up sketching. And he began to find his sister to get back home. Then, he was lucky that his sister had just come back to him.
So, they immediately left the park for home. As they had no umbrella, they were heading home on foot, getting wet in the rain. It did not seem to stop raining soon, let alone it was raining much harder with fierce thunder and lightning. So, they began to run. He ran first, followed by his sister. But sometimes, he had to stop running and wait for his sister, who was also running very hard to follow him. He could not leave her alone and waited for her many times on his way home. On his way home, he tried to find a place to shelter from the rain. In fact, he found some. But he elected to keep running without shelter. They were already so soaked in the rain that in his belief, they should continue on their way home, take hot shower and change their clothes at home.

It was every detail on the day he went to sketch.

He thought, ‘What a terrible day I have had! I was lucky to come home with my dear sister, having no injury while running in the heavy rain with fierce thunder and lightning. I shouldn't have done what I wasn't used to doing.’

　そしてまた写生を始めました。彼がこれほど何度も挑戦するとは、驚きです。彼にもまだ、一生懸命描こうという良心が残っていたようです。
また、同じものを描こうとしました。場所を変えてもよかったのです。実際、一瞬、そうしようかとも考えたのですが、結局、変えませんでした。また同じことを繰り返すのが嫌だったからです。そこで同じ場所で写生を続け、できるだけ上手に描こうと頑張りました。でも、この後、悲惨な思いをすることになります。
　写生を始めて30分後、天気が悪くなり、暗い雲が低く垂れこめ始めました。明らかに、雨が降る予兆でした。「くそ。やばい！」と思ったのですが、写生を続けました。その時点で、止めるわけにはいかなかったのです。写生が未完成の状態で、止めたくても止められなかったのです。その時、大きな雨粒が落ち始めたのですが、 それでも雨に濡れながら、写生を続けました。
　周りで遊んでいるはずの妹のことも気になり、写生を続けながら、妹を探しました。周辺のどこかで遊んでいるはずなのですが、その姿が見当たらず、少し慌てました。
写生の方は、おもったように描けず、イライラしていました。写生を続けるうちに、雨はどんどん強くなっていきました。そのため、写生を止めざるを得ませんでした。家に帰ろうと決め、妹を探し始めました。ちょうどその時、幸運にも、妹が戻ってきました。
二人はすぐに公園を出て家に向かいます。傘を持っていなかったので、雨に濡れながら徒歩で家に向かいました。雨はすぐには止みそうな気配はなく、それどころか、雷がなり、稲光が走るほどの激しさでした。それを見て、二人は走り出しました。彼が先に走り、妹が後についてきました。でも、途中で、時々、立ち止まって、懸命に走る妹を待ちます。妹も一生懸命走っているのですが、兄が早すぎて付いていけないのです。妹をほっておくわけにはいかず、途中で、何度も妹を待ちました。途中、雨をしのげる場所を探しもしました。実際、いくつかそうした場所はありました。でも、雨宿りせずに走り続けることにしました。すでに雨でびしょ濡れになっていたので、このまま家に帰って、暖かいシャワーを浴びて着替えるほうがいいと考えたのです。

これが、写生に出かけた日の顛末です。

「悲惨な一日やった！雷が鳴り、稲光が走る大雨の中を走ったけど、怪我もなく、大事な妹と無事帰ってこれて一安心！慣れないことをするもんやない！」
