November 23, 2022: Fountain Pen (1), Farber Castell, Service(万年筆（1）、ファーバー・カステル、修理)
It has been about six years since I began to use Faber-Castell's fountain pen. But it has not written itself well since a year ago. It has often not written itself when I start or am in the middle of writing. Nevertheless, I have kept using it to clean the pen nib or use different inks. I found that changing inks helped it write better than cleaning the pen nib. However, I am tired of it and no longer keep doing it.
Thus, I emailed the distributor in Japan to see if it could adjust or repair the pen nib. However, it has no function to service it. It can only replace the pen nib for 8000 yen. Then, I searched for and found a provider who services the pen nib over the Internet. After promptly emailing it to check the cost, I sent my pen to it since it cost only about 3,000 yen. It is now under service, and I have been looking forward to its return.
ファーバー・カステルの万年筆・タミシオを使って6年が経ちました。1年位前から書き味が悪くなりました。書き始めにインクが出ないことや、書いている途中にインクが出なくなることが頻発するようになりました。いままででは、ペン先を洗浄したり、粘度の違うインクを使って、だましだまし使ってきました。ペン先の洗浄はあまり効果がありませんが、粘度の違うインクを使うことで書き味が改善することもありました。でも、これも限界のようです。
そこで、ファーバー・カステルの日本の代理店にペン先の調整をしてもらえないか問い合わせました。ところが、代理店ではペン先の調整は対応不可との回答がありました。対応しているサービスはペン先交換で、この場合、8000円もかかるとのことでした。そこで、ネットで発見した万年筆のペン先の調整や修理をしてくれるサービスに連絡したところ、ペン先の調整をしてくれるとのことだったので、調整を依頼しました。料金は約3000円でした。今、調整してもらっているところで、返送を心待ちにしています。
