December 10, 2021：雨、濡れる、傘 (Rain, Getting Wet, Umbrella)

 A few days ago, it rained hard all day.
 When it rains, almost all of the people open their respective umbrellas. Even in light rain, they open it. On the other hand, they use it in a storm like a typhoon. Such use is dangerous since it prevents them from controlling their body movement. They hate getting wet with rain so much.
 I also have the same feeling. But I get more frustrated by opening an umbrella since it occupies one of my hands and does not entirely prevent me from getting wet. Accordingly, I do not use an umbrella as often as others. When I was in high school, I used to commute by bicycle. Even in heavy rain, I used it without an umbrella. Even now, I do not use an umbrella in light rain. When it begins to rain heavily on my way home, and I have no umbrella, I use a bus instead of buying an umbrella at a convenience store.
 There may be other ways to deal with rain.

　数日前は、一日中雨が降っていました。
　雨が降ると、日本ではほとんど全員と言っていいくらい、傘を差します。パラパラと降る小雨でも差します。反対に台風のような嵐の中でも傘を差します。風が強いと、傘が風にあおられて体をもっていかれるので危険ではとおもうのですが、それでも皆さん傘を差しています。皆さん、濡れることに抵抗感が非常に強いのだとおもいます。
　ボクは、昔から雨でもあまり傘を差さない方です。傘を差していても、雨を完全に防げないからです。傘を差しているにも関わらず雨に濡れ、更に片手が使えなくなることにすごくフラストレーションを感じます。高校生の時は、土砂降りの雨でも、傘を差さずに自転車で通学していました。いまでも、小降りなら傘を差しません。帰宅中に雨が降り始め、傘がない場合は、コンビニで傘を買わずにバスを使います。
 雨の対処方法は他にもあるかも知れない。
