March 17, 2023: Season of Beer, Beer Bar（ビールの季節、ビールバー）

The last few days have been very warm, and the cherry trees will soon be in full bloom. The weather is so lovely that I feel like having a beer. A few days ago, I had an Ebisu beer for the first time in a long time. It was a bit expensive but tasted good.
There are several places to enjoy beers around my nearest JR station. One of them is a beer bar, one of the few cool ones in my town. It is about a ten-minute walk from my flat. It is a small standing bar that serves a wide variety of craft beers. It opened about three years ago, just before the COVID-19 pandemic. When it opened, I thought it would not last long. I had seen some other restaurants fail there before it opened. Originally, it was a JR's standing soba restaurant. It had been successful for many years but closed about ten years ago. After that, several restaurants tried but failed, and the bar opened in the end. So I thought the beer bar would not be able to stay in business.
But it has still stayed in business there. It might attract customers who want to have a quick drink.

　ここ数日、暖かい日が続いています。桜もまもなく満開を向けえそうです。こう天気がいいと、ビールが飲みたくなります。先日も、久しぶりにエビスビールをのみました。ややお高いですが、おいしいです。
　最寄りのJR駅の周辺には、ビールを楽しめる店がいくつかあります。その一つが、ボク街で数少ないおしゃれな店のビールバーです。ボクのマンションから徒歩10分のところにあります。立ち飲みの店ですが、クラフトビールの品揃えが豊富な店です。店は３年くらい前にオープンしました。開店してすぐに、コロナ感染が広まったことから、営業を続けるのは厳しいと思っていました。この店がオープンする前に、別の飲食店が何軒も失敗するのを見てきたからです。元々は、JR運営の駅そばです。何年もうまくいっていたのですが、十年くらい前に止めてしまいました。それから、他の飲食店が挑戦しましたが、ダメでした。そして、最後が今のビールバーです。そういうわけで、このバーも続かないと思っていました。
　ところが、3年たったいまでも営業を続けています。家に帰る前に軽く一杯と思う人には丁度いいのかもしれません。
