April 14, 2022：妹との再会、関西弁(Reunion with My Younger Sister, Kansai Dialect)

 I was happy to meet my younger sister at my daughter’s wedding. It has been about five years since I last met her. As she lives in the Kansai area, I had no chance to see her during the last five years. In particular, I have refrained from going to see her after the COVID-19 outbreak. I am grateful for her to come to Yokohama for the wedding despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
I was surprised to see her so impressed by the wedding. She must have deeply cared about my daughter. She was also glad to find my hip has remained unchanged. I was also happy to hear about her and her family.
It did not take time to fill in the blank five years. Once we began to talk in the Kansai dialect, I could immediately adjust to the fast-paced conversation. It was fun to communicate in the Kansai dialect.

　娘の結婚式で妹に会えたのが嬉しかったです。最後に会ったのは5年ぶりくらいでしょうか。関西に住んでいるため、この5年間は会う機会がなかった。特に、COVID-19が発生した後は、会いに行くのを控えていました。COVID-19が流行しているにもかかわらず、結婚式のために横浜まで来てくれたことに感謝です。
　結婚式であんなに感動している姿を見て、驚きました。よほど娘のことを気に掛けていてくれたのだと思います。また、私の股関節も変わらないとわかり喜んでいました。私も、彼女や彼女の家族のことを聞けて嬉しかった。
　空白の5年間を埋めるのに時間はかかりませんでした。関西弁で話し始めると、テンポの良い会話にすぐに馴染むことができました。関西弁でのコミュニケーションは楽しかったです。
