July 7, 2022: Zermatt, Skiing to Cervinia, Crossing Border, Shopping （ツェルマット、スキーでチェリビニアへ、国境越え、ショッピング）
The next day, we took a giant gondola I had never seen in Japan. It flew us to Klein Matterhorn. It is a peak of the Pennine Alps at 3,883m which is higher than the summit of Mt.Fuji and has less oxygen. When I got off the gondola, I had difficulty breathing and needed time to adjust to the environment. From the peak, we experienced crossing a border with skiing. We skied down the Italian side of the Matterhorn to head for Cerivina. It is at the foot of Monte Cervino, the Italian name of the Matterhorn. Cervinia had such broad and gentle slopes that I could non-stop ski down from the top.
After having a pizza for lunch, we rushed to a brand-name store to buy souvenirs. We got a famous brand bag my wife wanted to buy. I put it into my rucksack carefully and left the town for Zermatt. On our return, we took back the same way we had come to. We took a gondola from Cervinia to Plateau Rosa at 3,480m. Then, we safely skied down to Zermatt. Luckily, there was no damage to the precious bag！
翌日は、日本では見たことがない巨大なゴンドラに乗り、クライン・マッターホルンまで登りました。クライン・マッターホルンの標高は3883mで、富士山の山頂より高く、酸素が薄かったです。ゴンドラを下りると、息苦しく、慣れるのに時間がかかりました。ここからは、スキーで国境を越える体験をしました。チェルビニアを目指して、マッターホルンのイタリア側に滑り降りました。チェルビニアは、マッターホルンのイタリア語名「モンテ・チェルビーノ」にちなんでいます。チェリビニアの斜面は広大で緩やかだったお陰で、頂上からノンストップで滑り降りました。
お昼にピザを食べた後は、みやげを買うためにブランド店にダッシュし、お目当ての有名ブランドのバッグを買いました。リュックサックにバッグを大事に詰め、ツェルマット向けて再出発です。帰りも、来た時のルートを同じでした。チェルビニアからゴンドラに乗り、3480mのプラトローザまで上りました。そこからは、スイス側に滑り降り、無事ツェルマットに到着しました。幸いわいにも、イタリアで買ったバッグも無事でした！
