次男と歩く-我が家にもスマートテレビ

我が家にもスマートテレビがやってきました。
私がカナダに来たのは、1997年。
その年に購入した日本製のテレビが映らなくなってしまいました。
そこで、ようやくスマートテレビが我が家に導入されたのです。

最も生活が変わったのは次男かもしれません。
スマートテレビで見る事が出来る、教育番組。
次男はその番組にはまっており、幼稚園から帰ってくると、毎日のようにそのテレビをみています。

その教育番組を見るようになって次男の言葉数が一気に増えるようになりました。
言葉だけではなく、文章も多くなり、またタイミングよく話をするようになりました。
一気に、2-3文を話すことはありませんが、4-5単語の1文をスラスラと話をするようになりました。
そんなに多くのことを話すことは出来ませんが、それでも以前と比べると急に文章が増えたように思えます。

さらには、親が話す言葉を真似ることも出来るようになりつつあります。
以前は、単語だけでしたが、短い文章を真似ることも出て来るようになりました。

テレビの教育番組がこれほどまでに子供に教育的な意味合いがあるとは思いませんでした。
子供の吸収力って凄いですね。
障害を持つ次男であっても、教育番組を見始めて僅か数週間ではっきりと違いが分かる位でした。

この先、どこまで言葉を覚えるのか、少し楽しみです。

Smart TVs have come to my home.
I came to Canada in 1997.
The Japanese TV I bought that year stopped working.

So, a smart TV was finally introduced to our home.

My second son may be the one whose life has changed the most.
He is addicted to the educational programs that he can watch on the Smart TV.
My second son is addicted to that program and watches it every day when he comes home from kindergarten.

Since he started watching this educational program, his vocabulary has increased dramatically.
Not only words, but also sentences became more frequent, and he began to speak at the right time.
He does not speak 2-3 sentences at a time, but he now speaks one sentence of 4-5 words at a time in a slurred speech.
Although he is not able to speak that many words, he still seems to be able to make more sentences more rapidly than before.

In addition, he is becoming able to imitate what his parents say.
Before, they could only speak words, but now they can imitate short sentences.

I had no idea that TV educational programs could be so educational for children.
It is amazing how much children can absorb.
Even my second son, who has a disability, could clearly see the difference in just a few weeks after he started watching educational programs.

I am looking forward to seeing how much more he will learn.
