5人目はMalcolm Gladwellさん。
どんな人？

Malcolm Timothy Gladwell CM (born 3 September 1963) is an English-born Canadian journalist, author, and public speaker.[2] He has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1996. He has published seven books. He is also the host of the podcast Revisionist History and co-founder of the podcast company Pushkin Industries. Gladwell's writings often deal with the unexpected implications of research in the social sciences, such as sociology and psychology, and make frequent and extended use of academic work.

観察して思いついたことを綺麗に無駄なく説明する人。
面白い観点と論点を持っているお兄さん。
こんな先生がどの学校にもいたらいいのになと思わせる人。
健在している方なので、直接教わろうと思えばできなくなはい。
彼の独特な考え方を楽しめるかどうかは好みがわかれる。

本物の専門知識を得るのにかかる時間は『10,000時間』だろう。
なんにでも時間がかかる。
体験が全てではないけれど、住んで体験して理解が深まると思う。
勉強と知識だけで専門家になったと思える人には疑問を感じる。
特に中東の専門家。
住んだ事なくて、現地の言葉も話せず、中東人の友達や親友はいない。
その三つをクリアしてから専門家と言って欲しい。
本物の専門家なら『10,000時間』くらい軽くクリアしてしまうと思う。

明らかではなくて、隠されていて、話しに上らない事に注意を向けるべき。
そうだと思う。
昔だったら言われたことをそのまま受け取っていたと思う。
今は、説明が上手だなと思う人がいる。
遠回しに本当のことを言うのではない。
必要ではない事を省いて誰も傷つけることなく結論を簡潔に伝える人。
何を言っていないか
何を悟らせないか
何が結論の後に意味するところなのか
話すと判る事も出てくるけれど、メールで済ませると短いもの。

誰かの親友になるなら時間と感性が必須。深く誰かを思いやるのは疲れる。
だからこそ親友枠が限られてくる。
大体そんなにプライベートの時間はない。
勉強したい事もあるし、書きたい事もあるし、返信もしないといけない。
新しい友達を作るのは本当にエネルギーがいる。
出会いだけに時間を割こうと今は思えなくて、先延ばしにしている…。

疑いがないから誰かを信じられるのではない。信じる事は疑いがない事ではない。誰かを信じられるのは十分な疑いがないからだ。
そうともいう。
知らない人、疑いようがない。
知ることで信じられるかどうかわかる。
そもそも知りたいかどうかも議論の対象。

Gladwell の本も記事も読みごたえがある。
説明の仕方と話の進め方が上手。
考えさせられる彼の名言は他にももっとある。
