6人目はRalph Waldo Emersonさん。
どんな人？

Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882)… was an American essayist, lecturer, philosopher, abolitionist and poet who led the transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He was seen as a champion of individualism and critical thinking, as well as a prescient critic of the countervailing pressures of society and conformity. Friedrich Nietzsche considered him "the most gifted of the Americans", and Walt Whitman referred to him as his "master".

回りくどいこと言わず、バシッと要点を述べる人。
短い言葉数の中にいろんなメッセージを凝縮させる人。
こんな人が近くにいたらなと思う人。
お茶飲み友達にぜひなってみたい人。
もう生きてないから無理だけど。夢で会えるかな？

決心したら、宇宙はそれを現実にしようとする。
決心したら、必要なものが揃っていく流れを知ってる人は知ってる。
こうしようと決めたら、そっちに向かって全力で進むのみ。
これを信じている人は、大胆な事ができる。
今住んでいる部屋にあるモノ、全部決めて揃えたのは誰？
今住んでいるところに来るまでの経緯は？
誰かが決めた？自分が決めた？
決めてもらうことにした？決心したのは誰?

臆病になる事も恐れることもない。人生は実験。実験をするたびに良い方向に進んでいく。
これくらいの勢いで物事を進めないと、どんなに時間があっても足りない。
強引くらいが丁度いいかも。
といいつつ・・・シャワー浴びながら懺悔してたりする。
水に流すという行為、実際にやっています。
うだうだしてたらシャワー浴びてスッキリして気持ちを切り替える。

自分がどんな人になるのかというと、自分がなりたいと決めた人。
恐ろしい事に、自力本願も他力本願も大当たり。
人のせいにするのもあり。
自己責任でやるのもあり。
どんな人になることに決めたか知ってる？最近更新した？
どんな自分にこれからなりたいか、知ってる？いつ決めた？
もし決めてなかったら、どんな人になりたい？いつから始める？

“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting some on yourself.”

幸せは香水、誰かを幸せにするとその香水は自分に降りかかってしまう。
これは本当にそう。
幸せな人って、幸せをおすそ分けしてくれる。
優しい人は、優しさをくれる。
和む人は、和みをくれる。
好ましい気持ちにしてくれる人を選んで友達にすべき。
選べます。少しずつ距離を置くか縮めるか・・・選べます。
丁度良い距離というのがあって、これは心と時間の距離両方とも。
太平洋を越えて違うタイムゾーンまで逃げたことがあるから知ってる。
心の平和は自分で守れる。

人は心の準備ができないと理解できない。
いや、ほんと、これ私の今の課題なのです。
現状が昔の夢が叶った事だから、と言うと良く聞こえるかもしれない。
次の夢を叶える為には手放さないといけないことがある。
これがクリアになれば次の夢にいける。
今日の夜もセミナーを受けたし、新しい輪の中に飛び込んでいこうと思う。
研究会に入ってみることで、新しい分野の考え方と人達と出会える。
セミナーを受けている間に、体験入会の申し込みもした。
すぐに行動に移すのは、明日になったら忘れてしまうかもしれないから。
優先順位が一番上だから。
何よりも次の夢に向かうことが大事だから。

この世界にどういった意見を持っているのかは自分がどんな人なのかであることを表している、と人は思わないものだ。
『世界は自分の味方か敵か』にどう答えるかでどんな人かわかる。
物凄く抽象的なのに、価値観と人間性が現れる回答が返ってくるはず。
それはその人の今までの生き方とこれからを象徴するものかもしれない。
ということで、これは身近な人にきいてみるといい質問だと思う。

Emersonのメッセージはどれも奥深い。
考えさせられる彼の名言は他にももっとある。
